AnABlast: Re-searching for Protein-Coding Sequences in Genomic Regions

AnABlast is a computational tool that highlights protein-coding regions within intergenic and intronic DNA sequences which escape detection by standard gene prediction algorithms. DNA sequences with small protein-coding genes or exons, complex intron-containing genes, or degenerated DNA fragments are efficiently targeted by AnABlast. Furthermore, this algorithm is particularly useful in detecting protein-coding sequences with nonsignificant homologs to sequences in databases. AnABlast can be executed online at http://www.bioinfocabd.upo.es/anablast/ .

Los Reglamentos (UE) 2016/1103 y 2016/1104 del Consejo autorizan a las parejas transfronterizas a elegir la ley aplicable a sus relaciones patrimoniales sobre la base de uno de los criterios enumerados en el artículo 22.1. Sin embargo, el acuerdo de elección de la ley puede tener un contenido diferente al señalado en la redacción del artículo 22 de los ?Reglamentos Gemelos?. El objetivo del análisis es ilustrar que sería incorrecto sostener que tales acuerdos son, a priori, inválidos o no permiten la autonomía de la voluntad. Esta cuestión requiere una evaluación de la finalidad concreta del acuerdo de las partes y debería, al menos, estar abierta al examen del tribunal competente.

The turnover of highly repetitive satellite DNA is an important element in genome organization and evolution in plants. Here we assess the presence and physical distribution of the repetitive DNA E180 family in Medicago and allied genera. The pruning-grafting lattice of binary trees

AbstractWe introduce a new lattice structure Bn on binary trees of size n. We exhibit efficient algorithms for computing meet and join of two binary trees and give several properties of this lattice. More precisely, we prove that the length of a longest (resp. shortest) path between 0 and 1 in Bn equals to the Eulerian numbers 2n−(n+1) (resp. (n−1)2) and that the number of coverings is (2nn−1). Finally, we exhibit a matching in a constructive way. Then we propose some open problems about this new structure.

194317; With the aim of temperature diagnostic, femtosecond time-resolved CARS (coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy) is applied to probe H2 in H2-N2 mixtures. In a first part, a Lorentzian profile is used to model the femtosecond CARS response. A difference between the experimental broadening and the expected one is observed in the collision regime. The observed broadening increases strongly in an inhomogeneous way with respect to the perturber concentration. This is of considerable importance for temperature measurements. Capital Regulation with Heterogeneous Banks

We provide a general equilibrium analysis of potential consequences from the introduction of a binding leverage ratio, as proposed in Basel III. If banks differ in their monitoring skills and their ability to successfully complete a risky investment project, a tighter leverage ratio does not only mitigate moral hazard arising from limited liability, but also carries an unintended consequence: Banks are not allowed to absorb the entire supply of debt if they cannot raise new equity, which induces agents with a lower monitoring skill to open a bank. We report a de novo supernumerary isochromosome 18p in a child with tetrasomy 18p, analyzed by a straightforward combination of cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic methods. The diagnostic procedure consisted of standard banding techniques and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) with centromere and library DNA probes for chromosome 18, and 18p-specific FISH probes prepared by chromosome microdissection and in vitro amplification. The maternal origin as well as the most probable cell stages of formation of the supernumerary isochromosome were determined by typing of short sequence repeats (SSRs). Phylogenetic relationships in the Olea europaea complex and the phylogeography of 24 populations of the Macaronesian olive (O. europaea ssp. cerasiformis) were assessed by using three molecular markers: nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS-1) sequences, randomly amplified polymorphic DNAs (RAPD), and intersimple sequence repeats (ISSR).
