Non-representative samples due to differential nonresponse have been claimed as being the main reason for inaccurate exit-poll projections. The aim of this work was to examine the relationship between religious self-definition, attending Mass, the importance of God, and hopelessness under the hy-pothesis that these religious variables and hopelessness are negatively related. The par-ticipants were 273 Spanish undergraduates who were incidentally recruited. and who completed three religious items and the Spanish version of a Hopelessness Scale. The Chi-squared test and Bonferroni test were used in the statistical analysis. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el estado de la investigación cualitativa en las ciencias de la actividad física y del deporte en España, a partir del análisis de 1057 artículos publicados entre 2007 y 2011 en revistas españolas del campo indexadas en Scopus. Los resultados indican que sólo el 3.5% de los trabajos recurre a la metodología cualitativa y que en su mayor parte utilizan la entrevista como técnica de recogida de datos. The purpose of this article is to present the repression that hit Catalonia during the Spanish Civil War (abolition of autonomy and return to centralism, criminal sentences of a political nature), thus showing that prudent political choices, dialogue, and mediation in Catalonia are a matter of utmost importance. Several measures have been developed for the operalization of well-being, standing out the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). To cope with some of its problems the Temporal Satisfaction with Life Scale (TSLS) was developed. The aim of this study is to present and validate the Spanish version of the TSLS, in a sample elderly attending to University programs. The sample was composed of 737 elderly. Together with the TSLS, an indicator of general life satisfaction and the SF-8 Health Scale were used.
