De la literatura anglesa a la catalana : un canvi de circuit lector en el relat per a adolescents

2013

The article analyses the links between the stories written for teens in an English culture and their translation into Catalan. Our starting point is the analysis of three key stories in the history of reading, and we complete this analysis with the investigation of circuit readers in Catalan that deal with translations of the accounts. The main aim of this research is to analyse how do they adapt to a new and different society, what is the context where they operate and what changes do they produce into the target culture. The conclu- sions show to what extend these translated stories represent a model of liter - ary communication once they enter the Catalan circuit readers and how do they …

SPIONs embedded in polyamino acid nanogels to synergistically treat tumor microenvironment and breast cancer cells.

2018

Abstract The extremely complex tumor microenvironment (TME) in humans is the major responsible for the therapeutic failure in cancer nanomedicine. A new concept of disease-driven nanomedicine, henceforth named “Theranomics”, which attempts to target cancer cells and TME on the whole, represents an attractive alternative. Herein, a nanomedicine able to co-deliver doxorubicin and a tumor suppressive proteolytic protein such as collagenase-2 was developed. We successfully obtained superparamagnetic nanogels (SPIONs/Doco@Col) via the intermolecular azide-alkyne Huisgen cycloaddition. We demonstrated that a local ECM degradation and remodeling in solid tumors by means of collagenase-2 could enha…

HPMA-Based Nanoparticles for Fast, Bioorthogonal iEDDA Ligation

2019

Contains fulltext : 216143.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access) Fast and bioorthogonally reacting nanoparticles are attractive tools for biomedical applications such as tumor pretargeting. In this study, we designed an amphiphilic block copolymer system based on HPMA using different strategies to introduce the highly reactive click units 1,2,4,5-tetrazines (Tz) either at the chain end (Tz-CTA) or statistical into the hydrophobic block. This reactive group undergoes a rapid, bioorthogonal inverse electron-demand Diels-Alder reaction (iEDDA) with trans-cyclooctenes (TCO). Subsequently, this polymer platform was used for the preparation of different Tz-covered nanoparticles, such as micell…

in vitro biological evaluation of folate-functionalized block copolymer micelles for selective anti-cancer drug delivery.

2008

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the ability of folic acid-functionalized diblock copolymer micelles to improve the delivery and uptake of two poorly water-soluble anti-tumor drugs, tamoxifen and paclitaxel, to cancer cells through folate receptor targeting. The diblock copolymer used in this study comprised a hydrophilic poly[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl phosphorylcholine] (MPC) block, carrying at the chain end the folate targeting moiety, and a pH-sensitive hydrophobic poly[2-(diisopropylamino)ethyl methacrylate] (DPA) block (FA-MPC-DPA). The drug-loading capacities of tamoxifen- and paclitaxel-loaded micelles were determined by high performance liquid chromatography and the m…

Molecular insights and novel approaches for targeting tumor metastasis

2020

In recent years, due to the effective drug delivery and preciseness of tumor sites or microenvironment, the targeted drug delivery approaches have gained ample attention for tumor metastasis therapy. The conventional treatment approaches for metastasis therapy have reported with immense adverse effects because they exhibited maximum probability of killing the carcinogenic cells along with healthy cells. The tumor vasculature, comprising of vasculogenic impressions and angiogenesis, greatly depends upon the growth and metastasis in the tumors. Therefore, various nanocarriers-based delivery approaches for targeting to tumor vasculature have been attempted as efficient and potential approaches…

Polysorbate-80 coating enhances uptake of polybutylcyanoacrylate (PBCA)-nanoparticles by human and bovine primary brain capillary endothelial cells

2000

Certain drugs such as dalargin, loperamide or tubocurarine are not transported across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and therefore exhibit no effects on the central nervous system. However, effects on the central nervous system can be observed when these drugs are loaded onto polybutylcyanoacrylate (PBCA)-nanoparticles and coated with polysorbate 80. The mechanism by which these complexed nanoparticles cross the BBB and exhibit their effects has not been elucidated. Cultured microvessel brain endothelial cells of human and bovine origin were used as an in vitro model for the BBB to gain further insight into the mechanism of uptake of nanoparticles. With cells from these species we were able …

Active contour algorithm with discriminant analysis for delineating tumors in positron emission tomography.

2019

Abstract In the context of cancer delineation using positron emission tomography datasets, we present an innovative approach which purpose is to tackle the real-time, three-dimensional segmentation task in a full, or at least nearly full automatized way. The approach comprises a preliminary initialization phase where the user highlights a region of interest around the cancer on just one slice of the tomographic dataset. The algorithm takes care of identifying an optimal and user-independent region of interest around the anomalous tissue and located on the slice containing the highest standardized uptake value so to start the successive segmentation task. The three-dimensional volume is then…

Cost Management for IT Activities: A Case Study in the IT Division of a French Bank Using Activity-Based Costing

2013

The costs of information technology (IT) activities have been increasing rapidly these recent years, due to the technological sophistication and more market-oriented strategies that complexify the value chains of the firms. Many of these expenses do not relate to individual products but are associated to customers, market segments and distribution channels. In this context, the companies try to understand the cost of selling their products and services. This is the reason why customer-driven and market-oriented cost management approaches have gained in popularity. In this paper, we review in a first part the strategic cost management stream and the way we can give a customer orientation to c…
