ABSTRACT Two meteorite pieces have been recovered in Italy, near the town of Cavezzo (Modena), on 2020 January 4th. The associated fireball was observed on the evening of New Year’s Day 2020 by eight all-sky cameras of the PRISMA fireball network, a partner of FRIPON. The computed trajectory had an inclination angle of approximately 68° and a velocity at infinity of 12.8 km s−1. Together with the relatively low terminal height, estimated as 21.5 km, those values were indicating the significant possibility of a meteorite dropping event, as additionally confirmed by the non-zero residual total mass. Primary cultures of brain-derived rodent cells are widely used to study molecular and cellular mechanisms in neurobiology. In this chapter, we describe methods of purifying and culturing oligodendroglial cells from mouse perinatal brains. In addition, we describe methods of coculturing the purified oligodendrocytes with neurons. When prepared and cultured according to these protocols, many essential aspects of the biology of oligodendrocytes, such as their proliferation, differentiation, and myelination, can be studied in culture.

The goal of this study is to analyze and compare aspects of language learning games in the context of Finnish and Hungarian high-school teaching of German as a foreign language (GFL). First, the practices of using games in GFL are investigated. Secondly, the subjective theories of teachers on language learning games are analyzed. This paper presents the design of an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter for a low-voltage high-current induction-motor drives supplied by dc power grids. In order to effectively design the EMI filter, a suitable common-mode/differential-mode (CM/DM) separation technique has been used. Due to the high operating currents, the software-based separation technique using time-domain measurements has been applied. The proposed technique allows the CM and DM sections of the EMI filter to be properly selected in a more economical way, i.e., without the need of a dedicated hardware or costly radio frequency (RF) instrumentation. CXCL8 belongs to proinflammatory chemokines that are predominantly involved in neutrophil chemotaxis and degranulation. Several studies have suggested that secretion of CXCL8 from cancer cells have a profound effect on tumor microenvironment. In this study, in continuation to our previous work of understanding the global picture of invasion related genes in colorectal liver metastases, we clearly show an up-regulation of CXCL8 expression in the tumor cells at the invasion front as compared to the tumor cells in the inner parts of the tumor. Abstract Background Achilles tendon ruptures are becoming more common. Complications after open or minimally invasive surgery are: recurrent rupture (2–8%), wound breakdown, deep infections, granuloma, and fistulas. The authors expose their experience with a personal technique. Materials In 8 patients with acute rupture of Achilles tendon the surgery was performed at least 25 days after trauma. Clinical exam and MR demonstrated in all case a total lesion of tendon. After a posterolateral skin incision the tendon stumps were debrided and suture in end-to-end fashion.
