The author presents the preliminary considerations related to a planned study the purpose of which is to reconstruct the history of the Polish translation of Der Zauberberg (The Magic Mountain) by Thomas Mann and examine its impact on the Polish reception of the work. La tendència que antigament operà sobre els sistemes eslaus convertint el perfet en un passat general sembla que també va actuar en búlgar, però menà a resultats diferents. Una innovació fou el valor testimonial associat als temps passats, davant del valor neutre dels no-passats. Literarische Übersetzung zwischen Autotranslation und Neuschöpfung: Brygida Helbigs "Niebko" versus "Kleine Himmel"

Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie translatorycznej powieści Brygidy Helbig pt. Niebko (2013) oraz jej niemieckiego przekładu (Kleine Himmel, 2019). Porównanie obu wersji pozwala stwierdzić liczne rozbieżności. Przyjęta perspektywa translatologiczna ma charakter interdyscyplinarny, łączy elementy językoznawcze oraz literaturoznawcze. Wnioski z analizy stanowią przyczynek do refleksji na temat przekładu literatury interkulturowej, zjawiska autotranslacji oraz redefinicji pojęcia „przekład”.

Šajā maģistra darbā galvenā uzmanība tiek pievērta īpatnībām un problēmas, tulkojot tūrisma tekstus no angļu valodas latviešu valodā. Šā darba mērķis bija pētīt īpatnības un iespējamās problēmas, kas varētu parādīties tulkojot Dorling Kindersley (DK) tūrisma ceļvežus Great Britain un Lielbritānija, kā arī Small Luxury Hotels of the Wolrd (SLH) portfolio. Lai rastu atbildes uz galvenajiem pētījuma jautājumiem un apstiprinātu hipotēzi, tika izmantota kvalitatīvā pētījuma metode un veikta DK tūrisma ceļvežu un SLH viesnīcu aprakstoša analīze. Functionally-defined recurrent multi-word units in English-to-Polish translation

This study uses both parallel and comparable reference corpora in the English-Polish language pair to explore how translators deal with recurrent multi-word items performing specific discoursal functions.We also consider whether the observed tendencies overlap with those found in native texts,and the extent to which the discoursal functions realised by themulti-word items under scrutiny are “preserved” in translation. Characteristics of the translation product are often used in translation process research as predictors for cognitive load, and by extension translation difficulty. In the last decade, user-activity information such as eye-tracking data has been increasingly employed as an experimental tool for that purpose. In this paper, we take a similar approach. Grounded in phraseology and corpus linguistics, this paper aims to explore the use of bilingual lexical bundles to improve the degree of naturalness and textual fit of translated texts. More specifically, this study attempts to identify lexical bundles, that is, recurrent sequences of 3–7 words with similar discursive functions in a purpose-designed comparable corpus of English and Polish patient information leaflets, with 100 text samples in each language.
