New copolymers graft of α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-d,l-aspartamide obtained from atom transfer radical polymerization as vector for gene delivery

Abstract New cationic α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)- d , l -aspartamide (PHEA) graft copolymers were synthesized by ATRP, using diethylamino ethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA) as monomer for polymerization, yielding polycations (PHEA-pDEAEMA) able to condense DNA. Then, consecutive ATRP conditions were set up on PHEA-pDEAEMA to obtain copolymers containing also hydrophilic chains (PHEA-IB-pDMAEMA-pPEGMA) able to improve biocompatibility of polyplexes and to provide them stealth properties. Agarose gel studies showed that the copolymers effectively condensed plasmid DNA to form polyplexes. The vanilloid receptor 1 (VR1) is a heat-activated cation channel which also responds to capsaicin and other chemical stimuli. Protein kinase C has a stimulatory effect on VR1 activity, either alone or after activation with capsaicin. The influence of the cAMP-signaling pathway on the effects of capsaicin is controversial. To clarify this, the actions of capsaicin and the modulatory effects of forskolin, pCPT-cAMP, and isobutylmethylxanthine were studied in <i>Xenopus laevis</i> oocytes expressing rat VR1 and in CHO cells expressing human VR1. Further delineation of eye manifestations in homozygous 15q13.3 microdeletions including TRPM1: a differential diagnosis of ceroid lipofuscinosis.

The 15q13.3 heterozygous microdeletion is a fairly common microdeletion syndrome with marked clinical variability and incomplete penetrance. The average size of the deletion, which comprises six genes including CHRNA7, is 1.5 Mb. CHRNA7 has been identified as the gene responsible for the neurological phenotype in this microdeletion syndrome. Only seven patients with a homozygous microdeletion that includes at least CHRNA7, and is inherited from both parents have been described in the literature. Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) has been successfully employed to obtain a new derivative of hyaluronic acid (HA) able to change its solubility as a function of external pH and then to be potentially useful for intestinal release of bioactive molecules, included enzymes and proteins. In particular, a macroinitiator has been prepared by linking 2-bromo-2-methypropionic acid (BMP) to the amino groups of ethylenediamino derivative of tetrabutyl ammonium salt of HA (HA-TBA-EDA). Aptuveni desmit gadu laikā — no 1970. gadu vidus līdz 1980. gadu vidum — Rīgas kinostudijā tika uzņemta virkne specifisku kriminālfilmu — tās bija vairākas televīzijas mākslas filmas, kuru darbība pilnībā norisinās "kapitālistiskajos Rietumos" un kuras vieno kopīgas pazīmes, kas nav raksturīgas citām padomju kinofilmām. Maģistra darba mērķis ir noskaidrot šo filmu tapšanas īpatnības un to, kā pētāmo filmu veidošanas kontekstā izpaudies padomju kontrpropagandas aspekts. The dnaK operon of Streptomyces coelicolor encodes a novel heat-shock protein which binds to the promoter region of the operon

Transcriptional studies have demonstrated that the dnaK gene of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2) is contained within a 4.3 kb operon. The operon is transcribed from a single (transiently) heat-inducible promoter, dnaKp, that resembles the typical vegetative (sigma 70-recognized) eubacterial consensus promoter sequence. dnaK transcription was found to be heat-inducible at all stages of development in surface-grown cultures. In addition, at the normal growth temperature of 30 degrees C, dnaK transcript levels were shown to vary at different stages of development, being more abundant in young germinating cultures and in mycelium undergoing sporogenesis. Fatty-acid preference changes during development in Drosophila melanogaster.

However, the mechanisms involved in the perception of and preferences for dietary saturated and unsaturated FAs (SFAs and UFAs, respectively) remain poorly explored, especially in insects. Using the model species Drosophila melanogaster, we measured the responses of wild-type larvae and adults to pure SFAs (14, 16, and 18 carbons) and UFAs (C18 with 1, 2, or 3 double-bonds).
