Salikteņi rakstos par tirgvedību

Rakstība angļu valodā vienmēr ir bijusi diezgan sarežģīta. Salikteņi ir vārdi, kam nav noteiktas rakstības sistēmas, tādēļ cilvēki tos raksta dažādi. Tādējādi šī darba mērķis ir analizēt salikteņus rakstos par tirgvedību. Kvalitatīvā un kvantitatīvā analīze tika izmantota kā pētniecības metode, un analīze tika veikta par salikteņiem, kas atrodami rakstos par tirgvedību vienā britu un vienā amerikāņu tirgvedības žurnālā. Šis pētījums ir parādījis, ka pārstāvētākais salikteņu veids ir īstie salikteņi (proper compounds) un izplatītākā salikteņu rakstība ir tos rakstīt kā vienu vārdu jeb “koprakstījumā” (solid compounds). Modālo darbības vārdu mācīšana skolā: mācību grāmatu analīze

Mūsdienās modālie darbības vārdi tiek uzskatīti par vienu no būtiskākajiem elementiem angļu valodā, bet daudziem, īpaši uzdevumu ziņā, tie ir mulsinoši. Šī darba mērķis ir analizēt modālo darbības vārdu saistītas uzdevumu veidus skolas mācību grāmatās, veicot uzdevumu novērtēšanu. Šajā pētījumā izmantota metode ir piecu līmeņu kursu grāmatu sērijas satura analīze - New Opportunities: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-intermediate. Rezultāti ir parādījuši, ka katrs uzdevums var tikt iedalīts kognitīvajās, starppersonu, lingvistiskās, emocionālajās un radošajās grupās, pamatojoties uz Nunana (2004) uzdevumu veida klasifikāciju. Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Uz skolēnu vērstās pieejas elementi mūsdienu angļu valodas mācību grāmatās”. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt un salīdzināt uz skolēnu vērstās pieejas uzdevumus divās mācību grāmatās. Pirmā grāmata ir “Insight Elementary Student’s Book”, kuras autors ir J. Wildman. Otrā mācību grāmata ir “Solutions Elementary Student’s Book”, kuras autori ir P.A. Davis un T. Falla. Bakalaura darbā sastāv no trīs nodaļām par angļu valodas mācīšanu un uz skolēnu vērstu pieeju, kā arī nodaļa par empīrisko pētījumu rezultātiem. Variable selection with unbiased estimation: the CDF penalty

We propose a new SCAD-type penalty in general regression models. The new penalty can be considered a competitor of the LASSO, SCAD or MCP penalties, as it guarantees sparse variable selection, i.e., null regression coefficient estimates, while attenuating bias for the non-null estimates.
