Some results on generalized coherence of conditional probability bounds

Based on the coherence principle of de Finetti and a related notion of generalized coherence (g-coherence), we adopt a probabilistic approach to uncertainty based on conditional probability bounds. Our notion of g-coherence is equivalent to the 'avoiding uniform loss' property for lower and upper probabilities (a la Walley). Moreover, given a g-coherent imprecise assessment by our algorithms we can correct it obtaining the associated coherent assessment (in the sense of Walley and Williams). As is well known, the problems of checking g-coherence and propagating tight g-coherent intervals are NP and FP^NP complete, respectively, and thus NP-hard. The subject of the study is one of the characteristic Silesian soups - wodzionka, which has since 2007 been on the List of Traditional Products kept by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The reference literature and the current field research indicate that the characteristic soup with bread and garlic is consumed throughout Upper Silesia - both in rural and industrial communities. The genesis of its consumption, just as that of other traditional dishes, is directly associated with once meager nutrition. In Alpine regions, speleothem development on karst systems largely occurs during warm interglacial or interstadial phases due to their limited growth during cold stages. Still, recent attention has been given to the role of clastic sediments in caves, less dependent on temperature conditions. Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest śląskie menu ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tradycyjnych zup, czyli polewek. Na podstawie materiałów archiwalnych oraz materiałów pozyskanych w trakcie prowadzonych badań terenowych wśród ludności autochtonicznej dwóch województw: opolskiego i śląskiego (w latach 2007-2017) omówiono w nim wybrane, charakterystyczne zupy spożywane w ciągu tygodnia oraz te obowiązujące w dni świąteczne. Zwrócono w nim także uwagę na przemiany, jakim one podlegały w ciągu wieków. W opracowaniu zaprezentowane zostały następujące zupy. zupy z chleba, tj. wodzionka, germuszka i biermuszka-, dalej zaś żur, siemieniotka/konopiotka, rosół i rosół z młodzików.
Search for anisotropic gravitational-wave backgrounds using data from Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo's first three observing runs

We report results from searches for anisotropic stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds using data from the first three observing runs of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. For the first time, we include Virgo data in our analysis and run our search with a new efficient pipeline called {\tt PyStoch} on data folded over one sidereal day. We use gravitational-wave radiometry (broadband and narrow band) to produce sky maps of stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds and to search for gravitational waves from point sources. Abstract The aim of the study was to compare the effect of three distinct rest period lengths between sets of upper body single-joint exercise with different load zones and volume designed for either endurance or hypertrophy (50% or 80% of 1-RM). Sixteen trained men (20.75 ± 2.54 years; 76.35 ± 5.03 kg; 176.75 ± 3.33 cm, 24.53 ± 1.47 kg/m2) performed a test and retest of 1-RM on non-consecutive days. A person-centered approach was used to identify the profiles of symptoms of psychological ill-being among Finnish upper secondary education students (N = 2889); to examine whether gender and educational track (i.e., academic or vocational) are associated with these profiles; and to investigate the role of profiles in school dropout intentions. Using latent profile analysis, one asymptomatic profile (normative, 79.2%) and three symptomatic profiles (internalizing symptoms, 9.1%; externalizing symptoms, 9.1%; and comorbid symptoms, 2.6%) were identified.
