A new bipartite matching approach for record linkage: the case of two big Italian databases
2022
In recent years, university student mobility in Italy has worsened the north-south economic divide. Therefore, studying this phenomenon and its determinants is necessary to provide helpful information to support socio-economic policies. Thus, this paper aims at integrating two big databases about university students in Italy: the first one is provided by the Ministry of University and Research, concerning the university careers of student cohorts; the second one is provided by the AlmaLaurea consortium, concerning the university experiences of graduates and their success in the labour market. Both databases contain socio-demographic information that complements each other. The proposed meth…

Nuevos datos sobre "Orchis purpurea Huds."
2000
Updated information is given on the only known Valencian population of Orchis purpurea Huds. from the Sierra de Mariola. …
Comparison of Sulla-hay and Sulla-silage in the lactating ewes and their effects on milk and cheese characteristics
2002
Abstract Two methods of storage of Sulla- and oat-grass (silage or hay) were compared. Forty-six homogeneous lactating ewes, housed indoors, were divided into two groups and after 35 days of diet adjustment, were fed ad libitum twice a day, either Sulla- ( Hedysarum coronarium L.) and oat-hay (control group) or Sulla- and oat-silage in partial substitution of hay (silage group). Both groups were fed with 0.5 kg of commercial concentrate. The dietary treatment started 60 days post-lambing and lasted for 58 days. Every day, the feeding intake for each group was recorded. Individual milk yield was measured weekly and at the same time, milk samples were collected and analysed by Milko-Scan 605.…
Use of simulation-based learning among perioperative nurses and students: A scoping review.
2018
Abstract Objectives Simulation-based learning has been extensively explored, especially in baccalaureate nursing programmes. Recently, simulation-based learning has been introduced in perioperative nursing. The aim of this scoping review is to investigate work published on the use of simulation-based learning in the field of perioperative nursing. Design and data sources A scoping review was conducted using the methodological framework of Arksey and O'Malley to identify a broad range of relevant literature, regardless of study design. A comprehensive and systematic search was performed using Medline, CINAHL, Eric, Svemed+, PsychINFO and Embase in May 2016 and then was updated in February 20…
Sekundāro metabolītu izdalīšana no sūkļa Smenospongia aurea
2015
Darba mērķis bija jaunu sekundāro metabolītu izolēšana no sūkļa Smenospongia aurea un to ķīmiskās struktūras noteikšana. Tomēr, uzsākot darbu, nolēmām izdalīt oriģinālus, neribosomālus hibrīdu peptīdu/poliketīdu savienojumus – smenamīdu A, smenamīdu B, smenotiazolu A un smenotiazolu B –, kas jau iepriekš izdalīti no S. aurea sūkļa un kam noteikta augsta citotoksiska aktivitāte. Interesējošos savienojumus izdalījām no lipofīla sūkļa S. aurea ekstrakta, izmantojot augsti efektīvo šķidrumu hromatogrāfijas (AEŠH) metodi, to ķīmisko struktūru noteicām ar augstas izšķirtspējas masspektrometrijas (ESI/MS), 1H kodolu magnētiskās rezonanses (KMR) un 13C KMR metodēm, un iegūtos datus salīdzinājām ar …
On Trojan Horses and revolving doors: Assessing the autonomy of national officials in the European Commission
2014
National officials working in international bureaucracies regularly invoke the fear that member states strategically use such officials for influencing decision making and agenda-setting to their advantage. This article theoretically analyses conditions under which the autonomy of national civil servants in international bureaucracies might become compromised. The ensuing predictions are then tested using a unique survey among seconded national experts (SNEs) in the European Commission (N ≈ 400). Finally, evaluating the characteristics linked to reduced autonomy among SNEs in the Commission, the article illustrates that these officials are, in practice, likely to be relatively independent from …
The bureaucratic making of national culture in North-Western Ghana
2014
In this article I explore the making of national culture through bureaucratic routines in the Centre for National Culture in Wa, North-Western Ghana. I focus on an aspect of bureaucracy that is usually left aside: the productivity and creativity of bureaucratic routines. State, nation and culture are not fixed entities, but have to be constantly produced through processes of negotiation and meaning-making and through the continual reproduction of their boundaries and the categories that determine what is to be promoted or preserved. Bureaucratic routines and administrative processes are analysed as practices objectifying and nationalising culture and naturalising the boundaries and categori…
FT-IR Investigation of the Urea State in AOT Reversed Micelles
2001
Abstract FT-IR spectra of the urea/sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT)/CCl 4 system as a function of the urea-to-AOT molar ratio ( R urea ) at a fixed AOT concentration ([AOT]=0.1 mol·kg −1 ) have been recorded at 25°C. The experimental data are consistent with the hypothesis that at low R urea values urea is dispersed as monomers among the hydrophilic core of AOT reversed micelles, whereas at R urea >0.13 it is encapsulated as small molecular clusters. These clusters display some departures from the H-bonded structure of the pure solid urea attributable to their small size and to urea–AOT head group interactions. The stretching modes of AOT sulfonate groups are affected by the pr…
