Emma's mathematical thinking, problem solving and affect

International audience; This paper aims to understand one pupil's mathematical thinking through problem solving and mathematics related affect. The results reveal a successful, though quite unsure, problem solver whose affective state (connected to problem solving) seems to tell the same story as her affective trait (view of mathematics). The differences between results on affective state and trait seem to be connected mostly to emotions.

In this paper the Korean 4Dframe educational modelling kit’s rich capacities are presented within a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education workshop. The workshop is an adaptation of the Warka Water social design project, launched by the architect Arturo Vittori in response to Ethiopia’s diminished sources of drinking water. Participants of the workshop will study the geometry of the Warka Water tower and understand its water harvesting technique, which is based on collecting water from the air. peerReviewed

Although professional agency has become an increasingly crucial issue in work organizations, investigators lack a brief instrument to measure it. This paper introduces a short measure to explore professional agency at work. Our aim was to shorten the original 17-item Professional Agency Measure, while also exploring its usability for cross-validating questionnaire datasets, and investigating the relationship between professional agency and work engagement. Tutkimus käsittelee induktiivista opetusta ja sen edellytyksiä. Induktiivinen oppiminen on elämismaailman huomioon ottavaa omakohtaisesta kokemuksesta liikkeelle lähtevää aktiivista oppimista, ja induktiivinen opetus on tällaiseen oppimiseen ohjaamista. Tapaustutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin Jyväskylän yliopiston opettajankoulutuslaitoksen integraatioryhmän opetusharjoittelusta, jossa pyrittiin toteuttamaan induktiivista opetusta.
