Abstract This article analyses excerpts from letters sent by French Reformed congregations and politically-engaged Calvinist laymen in 1562. In these dispatches, the churches, lay notables, and local magistrates of Montpellier, Grenoble, Gap, Nîmes, Issoire and Rouen requested pastors to Geneva or thanked the town’s authorities for ministers previously sent there. However, these six letters were not addressed to the Venerable Company of Pastors, but specifically to the syndics and Small Council of Geneva. L'analisi dell'autopsia di Carlo, così come il resoconto dell'intrigo di corte che ha caratterizzato gli ultimi mesi della sua vita, fornisce il contesto in cui si è svolto questo flusso di propaganda. Postać Jana Karola Chodkiewicza (1686–1712) z linii supraskiej nie doczekała się do tej pory swojego opracowania choćby w postaci noty biograficznej. Artykuł niniejszy przybliża więc wybrany fragment z życiorysu wyżej wymienionego bohatera, który w latach 1700–1705 przebywał na naukach w szkole jezuickiej w Warszawie. Artykuł stanowi próbę zaprezentowania postaci Jana Karola Chodkiewicza z linii supraskiej (1686–1712), syna starosty błudeńskiego i oboźnego wielkiego litewskiego Jerzego Karola Chodkiewicza oraz Marianny Tekli z Naruszewiczów, który do tej pory nie doczekał się żadnego szerszego opracowania naukowego. Podstawę źródłową szkicu biograficznego Chodkiewicza stanowią materiały przechowywane w Archiwum Narodowym w Krakowie, w zespole Archiwum Młynowskie Chodkiewiczów. Dissonances of ethnic nationalism have in Western cultural policy long been concealed by the universalist discourses of the international treaties on material heritage protection, as framed by the expansive heritage conservation apparatuses of the European nation states. Originally inspired by the 19th century romantic spirit of conservation, they became in the 20th century part of the modern, state-apparatus. Zdecydowana większość emigracyjnych elit politycznych zajęła negatywne stanowisko w sprawie zbiórki pieniędzy na restytucję Zamku Królewskiego w Warszawie. W 1. połowie lat 70. XX w. na całym świecie działało jednak kilkadziesiąt komitetów i organizacji polonijnych wspierających ową inicjatywę, najwięcej w Stanach Zjednoczonych, Australii, we Francji i w Kanadzie. Chronologicznie pierwszy tego typu komitet zawiązał się jeszcze w czerwcu 1967 r. w Londynie, na kilka lat przed decyzją władz PRL w sprawie podniesienia z ruin byłej siedziby królewskiej.
