Wirkungsspektrum des C¯1-Inaktivators aus Meerschweinchenserum

Es wird die Wirkungsweise des C¯1-Inaktivators (I1) gegenuber C¯1 und dem C4 umsetzenden Protein der Euglobulinfraktion (I4) beschrieben. Zum Nachweis der C¯1-Aktivitat wurden vier Nachweismoglichkeiten herangezogen: Die Titration der hamolytischen Wirkung, die Beurteilung des Umsatzes von C4 und C2, sowie die esterolytische Aktivitat gegenuber TAMe. Alle vier Aktivitaten des C¯1 werden durch I1 gehemmt. Daraus ist zu schliesen, das C¯1 eine einheitliche Wirkung ausubt. Diese wird in den Testsystemen in verschiedener Form nachweisbar. Die I4-Aktivitat wird durch I1 in gleicher Form gehemmt wie die C¯1-Aktivitat. Dies spricht fur die Identitat von I4 und der enzymatisch aktiven Untereinheit …

EFFECT OF M-LOCUS DEPENDENT T-CELL PROLIFERATION UPON THE INDUCTION OF ANTI H-2 CYTOTOXIC T EFFECTOR CELLS

SUMMARY The influence of M-locus dependent T cell proliferation on the induction of anti H-2 cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) was tested in an in vitro murine cytotoxic allograft model. BALB/c (or CBA/H) derived responder cells (H-2d or H-2k) were cultured together with either C57BL derived fibroblasts or C57BL derived (H-2b), U.V. light irradiated, splenic lymphocytes. These stimulator cells lack functionally active lymphocyte activating determinants (LADs), but display serologically defined (SD) H-2 antigenic specificities. Performance of the on-line isotope separation facility HELIOS at the Mainz reactor

Abstract The helium-jet on-line isotope eparation facility HELIOS is in operation at the Mainz reactor for spectroscopic studies on mass separated neutron-rich nuclides far from the line of beta-stability. The basic features and achievements of the facility are reported. A total of 45 isotopes of the elements Rb, Sr, Y, Sn, Sb, Te, Cs, Ba, La, Ce, Pr and Nd have been separated and identified so far. Overall efficiencies up to 2% have been obtained using the integrated skimmer ion source arrangement either in a hollow cathode or in a high temperature surface ionization mode. The delay time for the HELIOS system was determined to be about 1 s.

Plant saponins are a group of naturally occuring triterpene or steroid glycosides which include a large number of biologically and pharmacologically active compounds. Saponins have been shown in both in vitroand in vivoexperimental test systems during the last decade to possess a broad spectrum of biological and pharmacological activities. The on-line isotope separation facility helios at the mainz reactor

Abstract The on-line isotope separation facility HELIOS consisting of a helium-jet transport system coupled to a high transmission mass separator is described. The main characteristics of the system were determined from γ-ray measurements on neutron-rich nuclides. The transmission from the target to the skimmer is about 60%; the overall efficiency for typical fission product elements is 0.05–0.2% and the transit time for Cs is about 1.0 s.

Toll-like receptor 3 mediates expression of clusterin/apolipoprotein J in vascular smooth muscle cells stimulated with RNA released from necrotic cells.

Clusterin/Apolipoprotein J is a protein that is upregulated in a broad spectrum of diverse pathological processes. The predominant form is a secreted glycoprotein (sCLU) with cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties which shows enhanced expression in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) following aortic injury and in atherosclerotic disease. Recent evidence indicates that during atherosclerosis, Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are activated in vascular cells by endogenous ligands. Here, we analyzed whether CLU expression in VSMC is controlled by TLRs, and stimulated by factors associated with or released by necrotic cells. Permeability of the rat bladder to Cisplatinum under different conditions: comparison with Mitomycin C and Adriamycin.

In 50 female Sprague-Dawley rats the absorption of Cisplatinum through the bladder wall was studied. Under different conditions, including cystitis and electrocoagulation of the bladder mucosa, the absorption was low and the measureable serum concentrations did not exceed 2.64 micrograms/ml. The influence of Tween 80--a non-ionic surfactant--on the absorption is investigated. The results are compared with those found for Adriamycin and Mitomycin C under identical conditions.

For the isolation and identification of the active principles, different chromatographic methods, HPLC, MPLC, elementary analysis, UV, mass, <sup>1</sup>H- and <sup>13</sup>C-NMR spectroscopy are used.
