Einfluß der Quellung auf die mechanische Relaxation von Polyäthylenterephthalat

Durch dynamisch-mechanische Messungen im α-Relaxationsgebiet vom Polyathylenterephthalat wurde der Einflus der Quellung auf die Einfriertemperatur und den Elastizitatsmodul untersucht. Es zeigt sich, das die Einfriertemperatur nicht immer linear mit der Quellmittelkonzentration zunimmt. Quellung und anschliesende Entquellung hat die Erniedrigung des bei der Einfriertemperatur auftretenden Speichermoduls zur Folge, was auf eine Verminderung der Spannungen der Ketten in den nichtkristallinen Bereichen hinweist.

Die Verteilung des Kieselsaure-Brenzcatechin-Komplexes zwischen wasrigen Losungen und verschiedenen organischen Losungsmitteln wurde in Gegenwart von organischen Basen untersucht. Dabei wurden der pH-Wert und die Konzentrationen an Brenzcatechin und an organischer Base variiert. Kieselsaure kann bei pH 9,2–9,3 mit Nitrobenzol praktisch vollstandig ausgeschuttelt werden, wenn die Brenzcatechin-Konzentration in der Wasserschicht 0,5 M und die Diphenylguanidin-Konzentration in der organischen Phase mindestens 0,25 M ist.

Comparison of the molecular structure and spectra of benzene and borazine

Ab initio SCF MO and CI calculations for two different gaussian basis sets are carried out for the isoelectronic molecules benzene C6H6 and borazine B3N3H3 in order to investigate the effect of increasing the flexibility in the representation of their respective π systems. In the process it is found from comparison of orbital charge density contour diagrams and inner shell orbital energies of borazine with analogous data for other systems that the BN bonds of this compound are considerably less polar (B+N−) than that of ammonia borane BNH6 (B−N+). Associations between leprosy and serum protein groups

Serum protein group typings were done on a sample of n=173 adult healthy Negroes from the Macua tribe in Mozambique and on n=129 leprous individuals from the same tribe. Unfortunately, the type of leprosy is not known. Whilst between leprosy and haptoglobins, transferrins and Pi proteins no associations could be observed, statistically significant associations between leprosy and ceruloplasmin resp. β2 I were found. It is pointed out that these associations should be confirmed by further research on other populations and with respect to type and process of leprosy, until biological and population genetical interpretations will be possible.

The crystal and molecular structure of the epoxybromo derivative of atractyligenin.

Abstract The complete configuration of atractyligenin has been obtained by a three-dimensional single-crystal X-ray difiraction study. Previous structural work has been confirmed, in particular the configuration of the epoxy group. The space group is C2, with four molecules in the cell, a = 19·005, b = 7·165, c = 14·450 A, β = 108° 31′, and the final R is 0·125 for 1320 observed reflections. The stress in the molecule (as indicated by the torsional angles) and the molecular packing are discussed.

1. We have studied 50 patients with primary polycythemia by radioisotope scanning (“scintigraphy”). In 96% of these patients the weight of the spleen exceeded 300 g. The mean splenic weight was 720 g. 2. 93 % of 48 cases with secondary polycythemia revealed a mean splenic weight below 300 g, as detected by scintigraphy. This contribution deals with four types of vowel developments found in Turkic languages. Two of these, i-umlaut and u-umlaut, areregressive vowel assimilations, the other two – vowel raising and vowel lowering – originate in a reduction in terms of quantity. Hexafluorophosphat und Hexafluoroarsenat lassen sich leicht und mit ausreichender Genauigkeit durch eine direkte Verteilungstitration mit Tetraphenylarsoniumhydroxid als Reagens, 1,2-Dichlorathan als organischer Phase und Permanganat als Indicator bestimmen. Der Titrationsendpunkt ist erreicht, wenn der Indicator vollstandig in die organische Schicht ubergegangen ist. Der Endpunkt kann visuell oder photometrisch bestimmt werden. Die relativen Standardabweichungen betragen bei der photometrischen Endpunktsbestimmung ± 0,3% fur beide Ionen, bei der visuellen ± 1,1% fur Hexafluorophosphat und ± 0,3% fur Hexafluoroarsenat.

1. Mit dem Ziel, die Anteile des bei einer Gallenstauung auftretenden Gallenruckflusses in Blut und Lymphe quantitativ zu erfassen, wurde ein Verfahren zur Gewinnung reiner Leberlymphe bei Ratten entwickelt. 2. Mit Hilfe dieser Methode konnte am Versuchstier mit normaler Korpertemperatur aus Messungen der Lymphstromstarke und des Eiweisgehaltes der Leberlymphe vor und wahrend einer Gallenstauung auf einen Ruckflus der fortlaufenden produzierten Galle in die Leberlymphe von ca. 7–10% geschlossen werden. 3. In Ruckflusversuchen an unterkuhlten Ratten mit Ringerlosung, die Evansblue enthielt, ergaben Analysen von Blut und Leberlymphe einen Anteil des Ruckflusses in diese Lymphe von ca. 13%.

1. The effects of nicotine, DMPP (1,1-dimethylphenylpiperazine) and acetylcholine (plus atropine) on the isolated rabbit heart were investigated. Heart rate, amplitude of contraction, coronary flow and output of noradrenaline into the perfusate were recorded. Noradrenaline was estimated fluorimetrically. 2. All nicotinic drugs evoked a dose-dependent output of noradrenaline and increased the rate and the amplitude of contraction. En el artículo se analizan los pasajes más relevantes donde Wittgenstein emplea la expresión‘forma de vida’ (Lebensform), estableciendo conexiones entre sus diferentes sentidos. Acontinuación se exponen dos interpretaciones de esta noción –la orgánica y la cultural–, quealgunos autores consideran excluyentes entre sí, y se discute críticamente la unilateralidadde ambas interpretaciones y su status teórico. The purpose of the paper is to present some researches made on the mechanisms of the combine for cutting, feeding and threshing. There are presented the floating cutter bar, the combine with a spike-tooth cylinder and rotary separation, the combine with dual threshing and separating rotors.
 Some of the adjustments are made on the finger sensors for cutter bar. One of the most important adjustment is that made in order to reduce harvest loss. Forward speed is one of the main factor in optimizing the performance of a combine harvester. The method used in the paper is that of direct observing and measuring made on different component parts of combines.

In crosses between populations of the mosquito Culex pipiens of different geographical origin three crossing types have been found (1) crosses with normal offspring (2) crosses with reduced offspring and (3) crosses that show almost total incompatibility. In the case of incompatible crosses 99.9% of the developing embryos are lethal and only about 0.1% of the embryos hatch and develop into fertile diploid females.
