Il saggio introduttivo tratteggia l'evoluzione dell'intervento sul costruito, che negli ultimi quarant’anni si è trasformato da operazione di nicchia, ai margini degli interessi culturali ed economici dominanti in un settore edilizio concentrato su nuove edificazioni, a fattore di traino del comparto, specialmente nell’ultimo decennio dominato da una crisi finanziaria che ha contribuito a ridimensionare le occasioni di costruzione ex novo. Considerando aperta la questione metodologica della ricerca di un approccio olistico, viene sottolineata l'importanza della conoscenza delle condizioni contestuali come premessa del progetto.

Starting from this initial description, the author of this article considers that Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences offers a great variety of possibilities to meet the objectives of university education. Though the study of dark tourism has been widely expanded over the recent years, less attention was given to the Southeast Asian destinations. Dark tourism exhibits events that are marked a disgrace, the fatalities that interrogate on our own vulnerability. As a gaze of the Significant Other, dark tourism anthropologically mediates between our finitude and the future. The chapter centers on Philippines as a new emergent destination of dark tourism, stressing the contributions of the industry to the heritage sites but alerting the contradictions this new morbid consumption generates.

The high prevalence of intimate partner violence against women (IPVAW) in countries with high levels of gender equality has been defined as the "Nordic paradox". In this study we compared physical and sexual IPVAW prevalence data in two countries exemplifying the Nordic paradox: Sweden (N = 1483) and Spain (N = 1447).
