Photo-Activated Phosphorescence of Ultrafine ZnS:Mn Quantum Dots: On the Lattice Strain Contribution

We address the enhancement of orange-light luminescence of Mn-doped zinc sulfide nanoparticles (NPs) induced by exposure to UV light. Ultrafine ZnS:Mn NPs are prepared by microwave-assisted crystal growth in ethanol, without adding any dispersant agents. When exposed to UV light, their orange emission intensity undergoes a strong increase. This effect is observed when the NPs are deposited as a thin layer on a transparent substrate or dispersed in an ethanolic suspension. El objetivo es dar suficientes motivos para reconsiderar un giro de 180º a su enfoque, sacándola de su pregunta ontológica y poniendo el foco en la crítica político-ideológica. En el complejo escenario socio-digital, los memes emergen como el lugar de enunciación de un logos que no puede ser ignorado. Fungicides are used to control pathogenic fungi of crop species, but they have also been shown to alter behavioral, life history and fitness related traits of non-target insects. Here, we tested the fungicide effects on feeding behavior, survival and physiology of the non-target pest insect, the Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata). Feeding behavior was studied by a choice test of adult beetles, which were allowed to choose between a control and a fungicide (fluazinam) treated potato leaf. Supplementation with an additional purine source (such as adenine) is necessary to cultivate these strains. If not supplied in adequate amounts, purine starvation sets in.
