An unknown primary tumor (UPT) is defined by the presence of a metastatic cancer without a known primary site of origin despite a standardized diagnostic workup. Clinically, UPTs show rapid progression and early dissemination, with signs and symptoms related to the metastatic site. The molecular bases of their biology remain largely unknown, with no evidence as to whether they represent a distinct biological entity. Positron Annihilation in IR Transmitting GeS₂-Ga₂S₃ Glasses

Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy combined with Doppler broadening of annihilation radiation was applied to study free-volume entities in GeS2-Ga2S3 glasses affected by Ga additions. It is shown that Ga-related void sub-system plays a decisive role in positron trapping process, while the overall density variation is defined mainly by Ge-related sub-system. These results serve as basis for new characterization route for inner free-volume structure of these glasses.

The ability to predict new chemical entity performance using in vivo animal models has been under investigation for more than two decades. Pharmaceutical companies use their own strategies to make decisions on the most appropriate formulation starting early in development. In this paper the biopharmaceutical decision trees available in four EFPIA partners (Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol Meyers Squibb and Janssen) were discussed by 7 companies of which 4 had no decision tree currently defined. The essay examines the legal status of confessional entities that have no agreement relationships with State, and who also did not obtainthe recognition stated by the 1929 law on «culti ammessi».
