International audience; A la suite de la première année de fonctionnement, le dispositif d'aide individualisée en seconde s'est révélé comme étant peu efficace sur les résultats scolaires des élèves. Le caractère peu ciblé du dispositif, une incohérence relative dans l'allocation des moyens aux établissements, le faible nombre de séances suivies par les élèves sont des éléments qui peuvent sans doute expliquer ce résultat décevant de l'évaluation d'une innovation récente qui devrait évoluer.

A la demande de la DESCO, ce dispositif a fait l'objet d'une évaluation dès sa première année. La présente communication fait part de ses principaux résultats.

Il contributo mira ad analizzare la problematica attualità della nozione di voto come dovere civico. In particolare, esso guarda alla sua origine nei lavori della Assemblea costituente e alla sua attuazione mediante la successiva disciplina di rango ordinario. Il tema è affrontato tenendo in considerazione alcune indicazioni della giurisprudenza costituzionale più recente in materia elettorale che sembrano allontanare il voto dalla sua originaria dimensione "funzionale" valorizzandone esclusivamente la natura di diritto individuale.

Whilst the quality of early childhood education and care (ECEC) is being monitored increasingly closely, various documentation methods and practices that aim at recording and assessing children’s advancement and activities have expanded in ECEC. The research on the impact of such documentation methods on grassroots-level practices is however currently scarce. This chapter illuminates the role of a specific documentation method—that is, a child’s ECEC plan—in parent–teacher meetings in Finnish ECEC. X-Raying the Dark Side of Venus - Scatter from Venus Magnetotail?

This work analyzes the X-ray, EUV and UV emission apparently coming from the Earth-facing (dark) side of Venus as observed with Hinode/XRT and SDO/AIA during a transit across the solar disk occurred in 2012. We have measured significant X-Ray, EUV and UV flux from Venus dark side. As a check we have also analyzed a Mercury transit across the solar disk, observed with Hinode/XRT in 2006. We have used the latest version of the Hinode/XRT Point Spread Function (PSF) to deconvolve Venus and Mercury X-ray images, in order to remove possible instrumental scattering. Do firms share the same functional form of their growth rate distribution? A statistical test

We introduce a new statistical test of the hypothesis that a balanced panel of firms have the same growth rate distribution or, more generally, that they share the same functional form of growth rate distribution. We applied the test to European Union and US publicly quoted manufacturing firms data, considering functional forms belonging to the Subbotin family of distributions. While our hypotheses are rejected for the vast majority of sets at the sector level, we cannot rejected them at the subsector level, indicating that homogenous panels of firms could be described by a common functional form of growth rate distribution.
Institutional individualism and institutional change: the search for a middle way mode of explanation

After noting the lack of enthusiasm of several well-known scholars concerning the adoption of both methodological holism and methodological individualism in its several versions, this paper shows that institutional individualism is a different mode of explanation from both of these and also that it is not the same thing as the so-called Popperian programme of situational analysis.
