Denied to typology Southern architecture in the essay recognizes a specific identity and perfect exceptionality in the essence of the place. If the facade establishes a relationship with the aesthetics of the landscape the underlying themes define other significant relationships. The logical ordering of the members the geometric clarity and the rigor of the relationships refer to an architecture that is measured and is a measure itself of the territory and its morphology. In turn the thickness of the facade expresses the relationship with the environment and interprets the climatic conditions in a poetic way intervening on the control of light on the voids in the wall faces on the determination of the shadow. In this paper the fundamentals of thermoeconomics for systems operated at variable load are discussed examining the cost formation process and separately the cost fractions related to capital depreciation (which require additional distinctions with respect to plants in steady operation) and to exergy consumption. The relevant effects of the efficiency penalty due to off design operation on the exergetic cost of internal flows are also examined. An original algorithm is proposed for the integrated optimization of plant design and operation based on an analytical solution by the Lagrange multipliers method and on a multi-objective decision function expressed either in terms of net cash flow or primary energy saving. The method is suitable for application in complex energy systems such as ‘‘facilities of components of a same product’’ connected to external networks for power or heat distribution. In the current (post-) pandemic context and through the lens of a southern European perspective the purpose of this article is to critically reflect about the role of culture as possible vehicle of urban and community regeneration. In particular we will focus on the activities of the no profit organization «Laboratorio Zen Insieme» in ZEN2 one of the last large popular and peripheral neighborhoods built in Palermo at the end of 80s in order to explore and understand how cultural practices work as agent of urban and social transformation capable of addressing emerging issues especially in the pandemic scenario we are experiencing. Thecasestudy has been conducted through analysis of documents participative observations (Honer and Hitzler 2015) and qualitative in-depth interviews with key actors involved in the conception organization and management of the activities carried out by Laboratorio Zen Insieme with representatives of local institutions and non-formal conversations with participants of the workshops heldin the neighborhood. The experience we narrate finds that cultural practices have re-conceptualized their design and functions as strategies of urban and community regeneration and at the same time have contributed to answer to emergent issues in developing proximity and local based strategies facing up to problems inherent civil rights educationalpoverty socio-spatial justice and have changed the image and identity of urban places they inhabit.In this sense the research provides a framework for development of strategies and legitimization for cultural practices and a point of discussionabouttheirrolein urban development.Although all cities in the world have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic its impacts on the territories yet to be understood are unevenly distributed revealing extremely varied imbalances depending on the places. Settore SECS-P/07 - Economia AziendaleQuality in delivering public services has been recognised as a major issue challenging performance in the public sector as well as the ability to operate effectively and within budget constraints. Empirical findings shown by the literature demonstrate that concrete efforts have been produced towards the evaluation and improvement of satisfaction levels of citizens and other Public Administration’s ‘customers’. However still today this issue portrays many unresolved criticalities particularly concerning the methodological approaches and operative tools to adopt in order to integrate ‘customer satisfaction’ programs with the wider organisational control system in each public administration. This paper adopts a non-conventional view of the ‘customer satisfaction’ concept. This is currently meant as a matter of social reporting or even statistical analysis based on the users’ perceptions on the level of provided services by a given (front office) unit in the public sector. Here an inter-institutional perspective is adopted with a view to map the overall value chain leading to the final product delivered to citizens or the community. Inside this chain tracking the underlying administrative products delivered by back-office units to their ‘internal clients’ in the public administration is recommended as a fundamental step to understand how to improve performance in satisfying citizens’ needs. This should also require a proper link between the administrative units’ goals and performance measures to the desired efficiency and effectiveness of processes leading to the attainment of administrative products providing the basis of the final services delivered to the private sector. Based on first empirical findings from field analysis in the Italian context the paper aims to outline an approach which could assist both politicians and managers to better assess and improve performance according to a customer satisfaction perspective.

The essay examines the complex issue of the division of powers between the State and the Regions according to Title V of the Constitution concerning health and safety at workplace. This division between the center and the periphery has been subject to a limited review by doctrine and jurisprudence expecially focusing on the regulation of labour market. The Author describes a multilevel system characterized by the presence of national and regional sources collective bargaining and codes of conduct. The panorama of the contemporary Italian reception of the Spanish poets of the 19th century through translations is not particularly satisfactory since it is necessary to wait for the following century to find the first monographic studies and editions of texts in translation although in anthological form. However as in the rest of Europe the corpus of periodicals of magazines offers a very profitable editorial channel for receiving foreign literary texts. This work focuses on the presence of Rosalía de Castro's work in the contemporary Italian press. At the same time attempts have been made to complete the study of the reception of the Galician poet in Italy collecting traces in other editorial products such as the book. The consequent analytical focus will correspond to the transnational study of some proto and meta texts individualized by their special interest.
