Locally tame plane polynomial automorphisms
2010
Abstract For automorphisms of a polynomial ring in two variables over a domain R , we show that local tameness implies global tameness provided that every 2-generated locally free R -module of rank 1 is free. We give examples illustrating this property.
On the rearrangement of some Z-arylhydrazones of 3-benzoyl-5-phenylisoxazoles into 2-aryl-4-phenacyl-2H-1,2,3-triazoles: a kinetic study of the subst…
2015
Abstract The rearrangement of eight new Z -arylhydrazones of 3-benzoyl-5-phenylisoxazoles ( 3d – k ) into the relevant 2-aryl-4-phenacyl-2 H -1,2,3-triazoles ( 4d – k ) in dioxane/water solution at different proton concentrations has been quantitatively studied in a wide temperature range (293–333 K). The data collected together with some our previous ones on compounds 3a – c have allowed a deep study of the substituent effects on the course of the rearrangement, thus increasing our knowledge on the Boulton–Katritzky reactions in isoxazole derivatives and on the temperature effects on free energy relationships.
Recurrent respiratory infections caused by a double aortic arch: The diagnostic role of spirometry
2013
AbstractA young woman with a clinical history characterized by recurrent respiratory infections, occurring since early infancy, was referred to our hospital. When the patient was a young girl, she underwent sweat chloride test, serum analysis of immunoglobulins, and evaluation of blood lymphocyte subsets; all these diagnostic tests were normal, as well as chest X ray aside from pneumonia episodes. Skin prick tests were positive for several different allergens, and a diagnosis of allergic rhinitis was made. At the age of 11 years, she started to complain of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms, and a gastroscopy detected a hiatal hernia with esophagitis. Despite pharmacologic trea…
Cocharacters of group graded algebras and multiplicities bounded by one
2017
Let G be a finite group and A a G-graded algebra over a field F of characteristic zero. We characterize the (Formula presented.)-ideals (Formula presented.) of graded identities of A such that the multiplicities (Formula presented.) in the graded cocharacter of A are bounded by one. We do so by exhibiting a set of identities of the (Formula presented.)-ideal. As a consequence we characterize the varieties of G-graded algebras whose lattice of subvarieties is distributive.
Lie properties of symmetric elements in group rings
2009
Abstract Let ∗ be an involution of a group G extended linearly to the group algebra KG . We prove that if G contains no 2-elements and K is a field of characteristic p ≠ 2 , then the ∗-symmetric elements of KG are Lie nilpotent (Lie n -Engel) if and only if KG is Lie nilpotent (Lie n -Engel).
A note on the Schur multiplier of a nilpotent Lie algebra
2011
For a nilpotent Lie algebra $L$ of dimension $n$ and dim$(L^2)=m$, we find the upper bound dim$(M(L))\leq {1/2}(n+m-2)(n-m-1)+1$, where $M(L)$ denotes the Schur multiplier of $L$. In case $m=1$ the equality holds if and only if $L\cong H(1)\oplus A$, where $A$ is an abelian Lie algebra of dimension $n-3$ and H(1) is the Heisenberg algebra of dimension 3.
Functional equations of the dilogarithm in motivic cohomology
2009
We prove relations between fractional linear cycles in Bloch's integral cubical higher Chow complex in codimension two of number fields, which correspond to functional equations of the dilogarithm. These relations suffice, as we shall demonstrate with a few examples, to write down enough relations in Bloch's integral higher Chow group CH^2(F,3) for certain number fields F to detect torsion cycles. Using the regulator map to Deligne cohomology, one can check the non-triviality of the torsion cycles thus obtained. Using this combination of methods, we obtain explicit higher Chow cycles generating the integral motivic cohomology groups of some number fields.
The associated graded module of the test module filtration
2017
We show that each direct summand of the associated graded module of the test module filtration $\tau(M, f^\lambda)_{\lambda \geq 0}$ admits a natural Cartier structure. If $\lambda$ is an $F$-jumping number, then this Cartier structure is nilpotent on $\tau(M, f^{\lambda -\varepsilon})/\tau(M, f^\lambda)$ if and only if the denominator of $\lambda$ is divisible by $p$. We also show that these Cartier structures coincide with certain Cartier structures that are obtained by considering certain $\mathcal{D}$-modules associated to $M$ that were used to construct Bernstein-Sato polynomials. Moreover, we point out that the zeros of the Bernstein-Sato polynomial $b_{M,f}$ attached to an \emph{$F$-…
