Financing pensions in the EU is a challenge. Many EU countries introduced private pension schemes to compensate declining public pension levels due to reforms made necessary by demographic change. Stop mutations cause 11% of the genetic diseases, due to the introduction of a premature termination codon (PTC) in the mRNA, followed by the production of a truncated protein. A promising therapeutic approach is the suppression therapy by Translational Readthrough Inducing Drugs (TRIDs), restoring the expression of the protein. Recently, three new TRIDs (NV848, NV914, NV930) have been proposed, and validated by several in vitro assays, for the rescue of the CFTR protein, involved in Cystic Fibrosis disease. Mit Hilfe der Methode der intermittierenden Belichtung (Sektormethode) in Kombination mit Stationarmessungen wird eine Absolutbestimmung der Geschwindigkeitskonstanten aller am Polymerisationsprozes beteiligten Elementarreaktionen durchgefuhrt. Hierbei wird die Viskositat des Losungsmittels insgesamt um den Faktor 170 und der Polymerisationsgrad um den Faktor 20 variiert. Es zeigt sich, das die Radikalausbeute (efficiency) bei Erhohung der Viskositat absinkt und das die Geschwindigkeitskonstante des Kettenabbruchs umgekehrt proportional der Viskositat und vollkommen unabhangig vom Polymerisationsgrad der Polymerradikale ist. Durch Kombination stationarer und instationarer Methodik (rotierender Sektor) werden die Absolutwerte der Geschwindigkeitskonstanten von Kettenwachstum und Kettenabbruch von Benzylmethacrylat unter dem Einflus verschieden viskoser Losungsmittel bestimmt. Die Radikalausbeute f hangt von der Viskositat des Losungssystems und der Art der Monomeren, dagegen nicht (oder fast nicht) von der Konzentration des Monomeren und der Geschwindigkeit der Radikalerzeugung ab.
