A prospective study of food preferences in childhood

Abstract This study has evaluated the impact of food choices at 2–3 years old on food preferences later in life, by following up the same subjects. Early preferences were estimated through recordings of food choices conducted in a nursery canteen in children aged 2–3, from 1982 to 1999. The children were free to choose the composition of their lunch from among a varied offering of eight dishes. The same subjects ( n =341) were contacted in 2001–2002 and so their ages varied from 17–22 ( n =91), 13–16 ( n =68), 8–12 ( n =99) to 4–7 ( n =83). International audience; Introduction et but de l’étude. – L’intestin est capable d’adapter sa capacité d’absorption à la teneur en lipide du régime. Cette adaptation implique un système de détection des lipides au niveau entérocytaire. Le CD36, qui est une glycoprotéine transmembranaire liant avec une forte affinité les acides gras à longue chaîne (AGLC), pourrait jouer ce rôle. En effet, ex vivo, la présence d’AGLC est associée à une activation de la voie ERK1/2 et conduit à l’induction de protéines clés du métabolisme intestinal des lipides : l’ApoB48 et la MTP. This study investigated the effect of menopausal transition on changes in lean and muscle mass, from the total body to the muscle fiber level, among 47–55-year-old women. Through a recent upsurge of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, the clinical assessment of most of the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) patients clearly presents a health condition with the loss of oro-naso-sensory (ONS) perception, responsible for the detection of flavor and savor.
