Variational Bethe ansatz approach for dipolar one-dimensional bosons

We propose a variational approximation to the ground state energy of a one-dimensional gas of interacting bosons on the continuum based on the Bethe Ansatz ground state wavefunction of the Lieb-Liniger model. We apply our variational approximation to a gas of dipolar bosons in the single mode approximation and obtain its ground state energy per unit length. This allows for the calculation of the Tomonaga-Luttinger exponent as a function of density and the determination of the structure factor at small momenta. Moreover, in the case of attractive dipolar interaction, an instability is predicted at a critical density, which could be accessed in lanthanide atoms.

Probing the radial collective oscillation of a trapped quantum system is an accurate experimental tool to investigate interactions and dimensionality effects. We consider a fully polarized quasi-one dimensional dipolar quantum gas of bosonic dysprosium atoms in a parabolic trap at zero temperature. We model the dipolar gas with an effective quasi-one dimensional Hamiltonian in the single-mode approximation, and derive the equation of state using a variational approximation based on the Lieb-Liniger gas Bethe Ansatz wavefunction or perturbation theory. Abstract The dynamics of the atrazine mineralization potential in agricultural soil was studied in two soil layers (topsoil and at 35–45 cm depth) in a 3 years field trial to examine the long term response of atrazine mineralizing soil populations to atrazine application and intermittent periods without atrazine and the effect of manure treatment on those processes. In topsoil samples, 14 C-atrazine mineralization lag times decreased after atrazine application and increased with increasing time after atrazine application, suggesting that atrazine application resulted into the proliferation of atrazine mineralizing microbial populations which decayed when atrazine application stopped. International audience; The s-triazine herbicide atrazine was rapidly mineralized (i.e., about 60% of C-14-ring-labelled atrazine released as (CO2)-C-14 within 21 days) by an agricultural soil from the Nile Delta (Egypt) that had been cropped with corn and periodically treated with this herbicide. Seven strains able to degrade atrazine were isolated by enrichment cultures of this soil. DNA fingerprint and phylogenetic studies based on 165 rRNA analysis showed that the seven strains were identical and belonged to the phylogeny of the genus Arthrobacter (99% similarity with Arthrobacter sp. Côte d’Or, zählt neben der Heuneburg zu den am besten erforschten Fürstensitzen imfrühkeltischen Westhallstattkreis. 1953 wurde das späthallstattzeitliche Fürstinnengrab von Vix entdeckt. Bakalaura darba “Paternitātes atzīšana un apstrīdēšana” mērķis ir sniegt ieskatu paternitātes brīvprātīgas atzīšanas un tās apstrīdēšanas teorētiskajā analīzē, tiesu praksē, regulējumā, kā arī piedāvāt likumu grozījumus paternitātes atzīšanas problemātikas risināšanai. Darba ietvaros autore apskatīja paternitātes atzīšanas teorētisko, vēsturisko aspektu un procesa norises gaitu Latvijā. Autore apskatīja paternitātes atzīšanas tiesisko regulējumu gan Eiropas Savienības valstīs, gan valstīs ārpus tās, veicot ārvalstu un Latvijas regulējuma salīdzinājumu. Darbā tika apskatītas paternitātes atzīšanas tiesiskās sekas, kā arī brīvprātīgi atzītas paternitātes apstrīdēšanas iespējas.
