Unusual B cell morphology in inflammatory bowel disease.

B lymphocytes express various different types of surface immunoglobulins that are largely unrelated to other hematological lines, although some reports have described a relationship between malignant B cells and other cells such as macrophages. Multiple genes of hematopoietic lineage, including transcription factors, are co-expressed in hematopoietic stem cells and progenitors, a phenomenon referred to as "lineage priming". An old method for good new cells

The aim of this work was to demonstrate a greater number of viable cells using a micro-surgical in-situ perfusion to collect rat pancreata compared with the pancreas after exsanguination. We used 3 groups of 20 rats. Perfusion was performed by selective cannulation of the left common iliac artery with administration of UW solution at 4 degrees C. Collected pancreata were digested and cells separated by Ficoll gradient were placed in culture to permit adhesion to dishes. Cells were characterized and tested for viability. We observed a gain of about 14% in the number of viable cells compared with those obtained after exsanguination (P < .001 by chi-square).

Unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) has been used as an experimental model to induce tubulointerstitial damage and interstitial fibrosis. UUO is characterized by cellular proliferation, accumulation of inflammatory cells, and subsequent replacement of renal parenchyma by fibrous tissue. Amalgam tattoo, the most common exogenous oral pigmentation, can sometimes be confused with melanotic lesions, being then biopsied. We present the clinicopathological characteristics of 6 biopsied cases (5 females and 1 male) of oral amalgam pigmentation. The most common location was the gingival mucosa, followed by the buccal and palatal mucosa. Biphasic pulmonary blastoma (BPB) is a rare primary neoplasm of the lung and its histogenesis is still uncertain. It has been proposed that BPB is derived from mesoderm or endoderm. Others suggested an origin from a single pluripotential cell. We present a case of a BPB with emphasis on expression of the stem cell factor receptor KIT (CD117).
