Spanish Abstract: El presente ensayo busca exponer en torno a experiencias poco analizadas por los sistemas juridicos europeos de corte continental, pero muy bien conocidas por los sistemas anglosajones. El objetivo trazado es fomentar el debate en torno a estas alternativas para la resolucion de los conflictos en la sociedad, con especial atencion a la mediacion. English Abstract: This is essay seeks to expose not very much analyzed experiences by the legal systems of the continental Europeans, but very well known by the Anglo-Saxon systems. The stated goal is to encourage debate on these alternatives to resolve conflicts in society, with special attention to mediation.

Useat Suomen mediassa viime vuosina julkaistut otsikot yhdessä kansainvälisten työn ja perhe-elämän yhteensovittamista tarkastelleiden tutkimusten kanssa ovat osoittaneet, että yksinhuoltajaäitien työ epätyypillisinä aikoina, esimerkiksi iltaisin, öisin ja viikonloppuisin, voi vahvistaa perheiden arjessaan kohtaamia haasteita. Underemployment among mothers of children with intellectual disabilities

Background Mothers with lifelong care responsibilities might involuntarily be non-employed or work part-time, both of which are defined as “underemployment.” This study aimed to investigate who these underemployed mothers are and what are the factors associated with such employment hardship when having a child with intellectual disability (ID). Method An interview survey was conducted in 2011 in two local authorities of Taiwan on 876 working-age mothers with a child with intellectual disability; 514 of them were working part-time/non-employed and chosen as participants of this study. As a consequence of population aging, we have witnessed in internal medicine hospital wards a progressive shift from a population of in-patients relatively young and mainly affected by a single ailment to one of ever older and more and more complex patients with multiple chronic diseases, followed as out-patients by many different specialists with poor integration and inevitably treated with multiple medications.
