Cyclocondensation of alpha-aminonitriles and enones: a short access to 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole 2-carbonitriles and 2,3,5-trisubstituted pyrroles.

2009

The reaction of alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds with aminoacetonitrile hydrochloride furnishes 3,5-disubstituted 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2-carbonitriles in a one-pot reaction sequence. While these products can serve as starting materials for the preparation of polysubstituted pyrrolizidines, they are kinetically stable against the base-induced elimination of HCN. In contrast, their 2-substituted analogues obtained from alpha-substituted alpha-aminonitriles can be readily converted to the corresponding 2,3,5-trisubstituted pyrroles under microwave irradiation. The key step presumably involves the thermal electrocyclization of a stabilized 2-azapentadienyl anion formed by condensatio…

Darstellung von phenolischen verbindungen und phenol/formaldehyd-polykondensaten mit ketoxim-, aldoxim- oder 1-methyl-4-hydroxyiminomethylpyridinium-…

1979

Thirteen low molecular weight oximes were prepared: one derivative of acetophenone (1), two derivatives of benzophenone (2 and 3), two derivatives of salicylaldehyde containing two phenolic nuclei (4c and 5c), and eight compounds in which a phenol unit is substituted by a 4-hydroxyiminomethylpyridiniummethyl group (8a–f, 10c, and 11c). Besides these compounds polymeric phenol formaldehyde condensates were synthesized which contain units deriving from benzophenoneoxime (15b) or from salicylaldehyde (22b) and condensates containing 4-hydroxyiminomethylpyridiniummethyl groups (23c). A series of low molecular weight and water soluble compounds (8a–f) were proved as antidotes on mice which were …

Why Do Five-Membered Heterocyclic Compounds Sometimes Not Participate in Polar Diels–Alder Reactions?

2013

The reactions of bicyclic enone (BCE, 1) with cyclopentadiene (Cp, 2) and the five-membered heterocyclic compounds (FHCs) furan 3 and N-methyl pyrrole 4 for the construction of polycyclic heterocyclic compounds have been studied at the B3LYP/6-31G* level. No reaction takes place in the absence of Lewis acid (LA) catalysts as a consequence of the high activation energy associated with these reactions. Electrophilic activation of BCE 1 by formation of a complex with the BF3 LA, 1-BF3, and solvent effects favor the reactions. However, a different reactivity is manifested by Cp 2 and FHCs 3 and 4. Thus, while the reaction of 1-BF3 with Cp 2 yields the expected exo [4 + 2] cycloadduct, the react…

Oxidative halogenation of substituted pyrroles with cu(II). Part I. Bromination of some 3-acetylpyrroles

1990

3-Acetylpyrroles are brominated with copper(II) bromide. The reaction afforded almost quantitatively only nuclear monobromination. Evidence for the structures of final compounds was by mass spectrometry, 1 H-nuclear magnetic resonance, ir, and elemental analysis

An approach to polymer-supported triplet benzophenone photocatalysts. Application to sustainable photocatalysis of an α-diazocarbonyl compound

2013

Covalent immobilization of 4-hydroxybenzophenone on Merrifield resins affords new heterogeneous polymeric triplet photocatalysts. Their successful application in the intramolecular triplet-sensitized photolysis of a α-diazo β-keto ester has been achieved under sustainable criteria. Remarkably, the simple recovery and reuse for up to five sequential applications have been performed, although resulting in a slightly decreasing activity.

Ringoffene Serotonin-Analoga, 2. Mitt.1) Synthese von 3-(2-Aminophenyl)-propanamin- und 1-(N-Piperidino)-3-(2-aminophenyl)-3-oxo-propan-Derivaten

1983

Ring-Opened Analogues of Serotonine, II: Synthesis of 3-(2-Aminophenyl)propanamine and 1-(Piperidin-1-yl)-3-(2-aminophenyl)propan-3-one and Their Derivatives The synthesis of the title compounds was achieved by Mannich reaction of suitably substituted acetophenones. The preparation of 3-(2-aminophenyl)propanamine and its derivatives requires complete hydrogenation of the carbonyl group of the Mannich bases.

Convenient Synthesis of 3-Cinnamoyl-2-styrylchromones: Reinvestigation of the Baker-Venkataraman Rearrangement

2010

An efficient and straightforward, one-pot sequence gives access to highly functionalized 3-cinnamoyl-2-styrylchromones in excellent yields. The low solubility of the target molecules allows convenient isolation. The formation of an α,α-dicinnamoylated acetophenone, as a consequence of a two-fold Baker-Venkataraman sequence, has to be anticipated.

Gekreuzt konjugierte oligomere aus pyrrol-, benzol- und carbonyl-Bausteinen

2004

Abstract Chalcones can serve as C 2 or C 3 components for the formation of 1 H -pyrroles. In particular the reaction with tosylisocyanid could be applied to the oligochalcones 2d - g with up to 6 enone units. A series of cross-conjugated oligomers 8d - g was obtained; these compounds consist of a chain of 1,4-phenylene, carbonyl and 1 H -pyrrole-3,4-diyl building blocks. The benzene rings bear two propoxy sidechains in order to enhance the solubility.
