Stereoselective synthesis of C-glycosyl compounds via Michael addition of trimethylsilyl enol ethers and enamines to hex-1-enopyran-3-uloses

1987

Abstract The titanium(IV)-catalyzed addition of trimethylsilyl enol ethers to 2,4,6-tri- O -acylhex - 1 - enopyran - 3 - uloses ( 3 and 4 ) gave stereoselectively 3,6 - di - O - acyl - 4 - deoxy - β - d - glycero -hex-3-enopyranosyl-2-ulose derivatives. The formation of the C -glycosyl bond was accompanied by a 2→3 acyl shift, followed by the elimination of the 4-acyloxy substituent. Similarly, the reaction of 1-pyrrolidinocyclohexene with 3 and 4 also led stereoselectively to 2-(2,4,6-tri- O -acyl-β- d - ribo -hexopyranosyl)cyclohexanones. In this Michael addition, among the eight possible diastereomers, only one was formed. The high stereocontrol of both C -glycosyl compound syntheses is …

Mit Donorzentren versehener korbförmiger Molekülhohlraum — Darstellung, Struktur, Eigenschaften

1991

Basket-shaped Molecular Cavity-Containing Donor Centres — Synthesis, Structure, Properties The macrocyclic basket-shaped molecule 2, composed of three 4-donor-substituted pyridine units, is synthesized by cyclisation of the chloromethyl compound 7 with sulfonamide 8. The X-ray structure analysis of 2 gives an impression of the shape of the molecular basket. Furthermore it demonstrates that the toluenesulfonamide residues interlink, creating dimeric units of 2 in the crystal.

Influence of negative allosteric cooperativity in cation transport.

1992

Abstract The bis-macrocyclic ether5 seems to have a negative allosteric cooperativity and is able to transport double the amount of Na+ and K+ cations as monocyclic systems. This compound could be used as a simple model of the plasma membrane Na+−K+ ATPase which actively pumps Na+ out and K+ into the cell, respectively.

ChemInform Abstract: Organocatalytic anti-Selective Mannich Reactions with Fluorinated Aldimines: Synthesis of anti-γ-Fluoroalkyl-γ-amino Alcohols.

2010

The asymmetric Mannich reaction between fluoroalkyl aldimines and aldehydes catalyzed by α,α-diphenylprolinol trimethylsilyl ether is reported. The corresponding Mannich adducts were reduced in situ to afford anti-β-alkyl-γ-fluoroalkyl-γ-amino alcohols in moderate yields and with very high diastereo- and enantioselectivities. ChemInform Abstract: New Acetylenes from Chrysanthemum coronarium L.

1990

The investigation of the aerial parts of Chrysanthemum coronarium yielded, in addition to several known compounds, two new acetylenic sulfoxides 9 and 10, and a new thiophene spiroacetal enol ether 11. Their structures were deduced by spectroscopic and chemical methods.

A DFT Study of the Domino Inter [4 + 2]/Intra [3 + 2] Cycloaddition Reactions of Nitroalkenes with Enol Ethers

2000

The molecular mechanism of the domino inter [4 + 2]/intra [3 + 2] cycloaddition reactions of nitroalkenes with enol ethers to give nitroso acetal adducts has been characterized using density functional theory methods with the B3LYP functional and the 6-31G* basis set. The presence of Lewis acid catalyst and solvent effects has been taken into account to model the experimental environment. These domino processes comprise two consecutive cycloaddition reactions:  the first one is an intermolecular [4 + 2] cycloaddition of the enol ether to the nitroalkene to give a nitronate intermediate, which then affords the final nitroso acetal adduct through an intramolecular [3 + 2] cycloaddition reacti…

Mukaiyama-type, eight-membered ring closure: Access to a tricyclic system related to taxanes

1998

Abstract Addition of Me2CuLi, with in situ trapping by TMSCl, to Hagemann's ester derivative 13, furnished silyl enol ether 14. Mukaiyama-type cyclization of the latter compound gave the tricyclic derivative 15, structurally related to the taxane core.

ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis, Structures and DFT Calculations on Alkaline-Earth Metal Azide-Crown Ether Complexes.

2008

The first examples of azide complexes of calcium, strontium or barium with crown ethers have been prepared and fully characterised, notably [Ba([18]crown-6)(N3)2(MeOH)], [Sr([15]crown-5)(N3)2(H2O)], [Ca([15]crown-5)(N3)2(H2O)] and [Sr([15]crown-5)(N3)(NO3)]. Crystal structures reveal the presence of a variety of coordination modes for the azide groups including 1-, -1,3- and linkages via H-bonded water molecules, in addition to azide ions. The [Ba([18]crown-6)(N3)2(MeOH)]1/3 MeOH contains dinuclear cations with three -1,3-NNN bridges, the first example of this type in main group chemistry. The structures obtained have been compared with molecular structures computed by density functional th…

ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of a Fullerene Derivative of Benzo(18)crown-6 by Diels-Alder Reaction: Complexation Ability, Amphiphilic Properties, a…

2010

A fullerene derivative 1 of benzo[18]crown-6 was obtained by Diels-Alder addition of fullerene[60](C60) to the ortho-quinodimethane prepared in situ from 4,5-bis(bromomethyl)benzo[18]crown-6 (3) with Bu4NI in toluene. Extraction experiments show that the complexation of K+ ions strongly increases the solubility of 1 in protic solvents like MeOH. Using Langmuir-Blodgett techniques, monolayers of the highly amphiphilic fullerene-derived crown ether 1 and its K+ ion complex were prepared. An X-ray crystal structure was obtained from a benzene clathrate of comparison compound 2, synthesized by Diels-Alder reaction of C60 with the ortho-quinodimethane derived from 1,2-bis(bromomethyl)-4,5-dimeth…

Preparation and mechanical characterization of fibres from a new copoly(ether-ester-amide) are reported. The mechanical characteristics are slightly lower than those of polyamide 6, but satisfactory for textile use, and the fibres have larger moisture absorption. This gives rise to more comfortable fibres preventing the accumulation of electrostatic charges.
