Pilvitallennuspalvelut ovat tehneet voimakkaasti tuloaan älypuhelimien yleistyttyä. Mobiililaitteissa on usein rajallinen määrä tallennustilaa ja parhaaksi ratkaisuksi on nähty tietojen tallentaminen pilveen. This paper investigates the use of elliptic Fourier descriptors as a shape descriptor for encoding the silhouette of a person. Shape descriptors are here used for predicting the shape of silhouettes in missing frames within a sequence. This prediction scheme is applied to the case of generating in-between images in a low frame rate videoconferencing system, where the reconstructed silhouette is used as a binary mask for reducing the computational time for the frame reconstruction.

Summary: The sequence-based type 1,4,3,1,1,1 of Legionella pneumophila sg.1 is predominant in the Palermo city environment since several years. In this study, extended sequence-based typing and pulsed field gel electrophoresis were used in a combined approach in the aim to enhance discriminatory power of the molecular typing procedures. However, probably due to a common environmental reservoir and genetic stability, most of the strains circulating in the geographic area under study belong to the same clone and are, consequently, indistinguishable by molecular typing.
