High-dose immunoglobulins (IVIG) are important agents in the treatment of numerous autoimmune disorders. In the field of dermatology, increasing numbers of patients with bullous autoimmune disorders and mixed connective tissue diseases have been treated. We successfully treated a patient with pemphigus vulgaris with IVIG, after he had developed osteonecrosis of his right femoral head while on azathioprine and corticosteroids. After reduction of oral corticosteroids, his disease flared dramatically. The addition of a high dose immunosuppressive regimen including azathioprine and dapsone failed to help. In the past few decades, professional sport in Bulgaria has been experiencing difficulties in performing well at an elite level. The country fails to live up to the standard that was established prior to the political changes in 1989. However, little to no research has been done, in order to examine the reasons behind this lack of performance by Bulgarian athletes and teams. AbstractAimsIn a field study, the effects of treatments of glyphosate-based herbicides (GBHs) in soil, alone and in combination with phosphate fertilizer, were examined on the performance and endophytic microbiota of garden strawberry.Methods and resultsThe root and leaf endophytic microbiota of garden strawberries grown in GBH-treated and untreated soil, with and without phosphate fertilizer, were analyzed. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of additives such as plants belonging to Lamiaceaefamily (Thymus vulgaris, Carum carvi, Origanum vulgare, Ocimum basilicum, and Coriandrum sativum), scalded flour (SF) or scalded flour fermented with Lactobacillus plantarumLUHS135 (SFFLp) on the quality and acrylamide formation in wheat bread. The formation of acrylamide and bread quality significantly depended on the king of plants used and the amount of SF and SFFLp used.
