Brand bonding development through shopping experiences in branded boutiques
2017
Nowadays Brands generate additional sales via their own retail network, in particular their own boutiques where they propose a unique experience and enter directly in contact with their consumers. Brands provide consumers with an emblematic experience they can fully pilot in comparison with externalized distribution. - Experiential marketing being a strategic lever - These specific shopping experience can generate business, reinforce brand-image, brand-bonding and can also trigger the engagement of consumers who themselves actively participate to brand-building. This survey aims at measuring how the shopping experience in branded boutiques generates brand-bonding. One shall then understand …
Making progress against cancer in Europe in 2008.
2008
Europe is facing a cancer epidemic, with rapidly increasing incidence rates. Population growth and ageing will further increase the annual number of new patients with cancer. Cancer is a huge and growing contributor to the burden of disease and premature death within the European Union (EU). One in four of all deaths in the EU is attributable to cancer, and in the age range 45-64 years, the figure is almost one in two deaths. The 27 EU Member States differ greatly in cancer incidence, mortality and survival. Yet at least one-third of the cancer burden is preventable and a further third can be detected early and treated effectively, even on the basis of existing knowledge. "Cancer", however,…
MLL-Rearranged Leukemia Is Dependent on Aberrant H3K79 Methylation by DOT1L
2011
SummaryThe histone 3 lysine 79 (H3K79) methyltransferase Dot1l has been implicated in the development of leukemias bearing translocations of the Mixed Lineage Leukemia (MLL) gene. We identified the MLL-fusion targets in an MLL-AF9 leukemia model, and conducted epigenetic profiling for H3K79me2, H3K4me3, H3K27me3, and H3K36me3 in hematopoietic progenitor and leukemia stem cells (LSCs). We found abnormal profiles only for H3K79me2 on MLL-AF9 fusion target loci in LSCs. Inactivation of Dot1l led to downregulation of direct MLL-AF9 targets and an MLL translocation-associated gene expression signature, whereas global gene expression remained largely unaffected. Suppression of MLL translocation-a…
Genetic analysis of dyslexia candidate genes in the European cross-linguistic NeuroDys cohort
2013
The work conducted at the WTCHG was supported by Wellcome Trust grants [076566/Z/05/Z] and [075491/Z/04]; the work in Zurich partly by an SNSF grant [32-108130]. We also thank MAF (Mutation Analysis core Facility) at the Karolinska Institute, Novum, Huddinge. The French part of the project was funded by Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR-06-NEURO-019-01 GENEDYS) and Ville de Paris. S Paracchini is a Royal Society University Research Fellow. D Czamara was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) within the framework of the Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology (EXC 1010 SyNergy). Dyslexia is one of the most common childhood disorders with a prevalence o…
Genome-wide meta-analysis increases to 71 the number of confirmed Crohn's disease susceptibility loci
2010
We undertook a meta-analysis of six Crohn's disease genome-wide association studies (GWAS) comprising 6,333 affected individuals (cases) and 15,056 controls and followed up the top association signals in 15,694 cases, 14,026 controls and 414 parent-offspring trios. We identified 30 new susceptibility loci meeting genome-wide significance (P < 5 x 10(-8)). A series of in silico analyses highlighted particular genes within these loci and, together with manual curation, implicated functionally interesting candidate genes including SMAD3, ERAP2, IL10, IL2RA, TYK2, FUT2, DNMT3A, DENND1B, BACH2 and TAGAP. Combined with previously confirmed loci, these results identify 71 distinct loci with gen…
Quantum Effects and Phase Transitions in Adsorbed Molecular Layers
1998
Phase transitions in adsorbed (two dimensional) fluids and in adsorbed layers of molecules are studied with a combination of path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC), Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo (GEMC) and finite size scaling techniques. Entropy driven phase transitions in systems with purely repulsive interactions are analyzed as well phase diagrams of fluids with internal quantum states. Adsorbed layers of H 2 molecules at a full monolayer coverage in the \(\sqrt 3 \times \sqrt 3 \) structure have a higher transition temperature to the disordered phase compared to the system with the heavier D 2 molecules, this effect is analyzed by PIMC. Linear N 2 molecules adsorbed on graphite show a transition…
Classical and Quantum Two-Dimensional Fluids in the Gibbs Ensemble
1994
We study the properties of model fluids in two spatial dimensions with Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo (GEMC) techniques. In particular in the first part of the paper we study the entropy driven phase separation in case of a nonadditive symmetric hard disc fluid and locate by a combination of GEMC with finite size scaling techniques the critical line of nonadditivities as a function of the system density, which separates the mixing/demixing regions, we compare with a simple approximation. In the second part we successfully combine path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) and GEMC techniques in order to locate the gas-liquid coexistence densities for a fluid with classical degrees of freedom and internal…
An integrated approach for high spatial resolution mapping of water and carbon fluxes using multi-sensor satellite data
2012
In the last years, modeling of surface processes - such as water, energy and carbon budgets, as well as vegetation growth- seems to be focused on integrated approaches that combine aspects of hydrology, biology and meteorology into unified analyses. In this context, remotely sensed data often have a core role due to the cross-cutting impact of this novel source of spatially distributed information on all these research areas. However, several applications - such as drought monitoring, yield forecasting and crop management - require spatially detailed products at sub-field scales, which can be obtained only with support of adequately fine resolution remote sensing data (< 100 m). In particul…
Comparison among different rainfall energy harvesting structures
2018
In this paper, an experimental comparison between different rainfall harvesting devices through the study of the electrical rectifying circuit is proposed. In more detail, three harvesting structures are considered: the cantilever, the bridge and the floating circle. Different waveforms were acquired and discussed. The processed data were compared in order to suggest the best choice for the rectifying circuit, from the simplest one to that most frequently endorsed in the technical literature.
