Synthesis of polyvinyl acetate-graft-poly-2-oxazolines

1994

Poly(vinyl acetate-co-vinyl chloroformate) (1) was synthesized via phosgenation of poly(vinyl acetate-co-vinyl alcohol). It was shown that (1) is capable of initiating the polymerization of 2-phenyl-2-oxazoline and 2-methyl-2-oxazoline, when the counter ion is exchanged using potassium iodide. Polyvinyl acetate-graft-poly-2-phenyl-2-oxazoline and polyvinyl acetate-graft-poly-2-methyl-2-oxazoline are obtained in the grafting reaction.

The cyclic [N(PiPr2E)2]+ (E = Se, Te) cations: a new class of inorganic ring system.

2006

The two-electron oxidation of [(tmeda)NaN(PiPr2E)2] with iodine produces the cyclic [N(PiPr2E)2]+ (E = Se, Te) cations, which exhibit long E–E bonds in the iodide salts. peerReviewed

Synthesis of a Naphtho-pyrido-Annulated Iodonium Salt and Pd-Catalyzed Transformation to 7H-Naphtho[1,8-bc][1,5]naphthyridine

2013

Nitropyridylnaphthalene is the central intermediate for the synthesis of naphthonaphthyridine and benzo-δ-carboline. Whereas the Cadogan reaction gives the carboline, transformation of the nitro group to iodo followed by oxidation and cyclization results in an iodonium salt. A twofold Pd-catalyzed amination leads to the naphthyridine.

Iodine containing species in the remote marine boundary layer: A link to oceanic phytoplankton

2011

[1] Iodine containing species have been measured in the particle phase (PM2.5) and the gas phase during a ship campaign between January and February 2007 in the South Atlantic marine boundary layer (MBL). Methyl iodide (CH3I) in the gas phase and soluble iodine species, i.e. iodide, iodate and an unidentified organic iodine species (UOI), in PM2.5 were measured. Temporal variations of gaseous and particulate iodine species were investigated. The exposure of the sampled air masses to phytoplankton along the back-trajectories was studied using a lagrangian transport model and satellite observations of oceanic chlorophyll-a concentration. Significant correlations were found between the concent…

Iodine oxidative coupling of diene and triene-diolates of unsaturated carboxylic acids.

1991

Abstract Oxidative Coupling of the dianions of unsaturated carboxylic acids 1 , and 4 with iodine, which provides a convenient and facile preparation of γ,γ and e,e-dicarboxylic acids 2 and 5, apparently occurs through SET substitution of intermediate iodo-carboxylates.
