As this is the first study on the "discursive identity" of member of parliament Margarita Nelken and on the parliamentary discourse of the Second Republic, special attention will be devoted to persuasive strategies and the image construction of the socialist MP. In «Y» (1938-1945), the Women’s Section aims to contribute to the implementation of the values of Francoism, influencing the ideas and behaviour of Spanish women through the creation of a post-truth, which legitimizes and ensures the survival of power elites. The press, in addition to reflecting a “vocation of information “, performs a series of social functions, among which the formation of citizens and of critical recipients of mediatic discourse stands out. The purpose of this article is to analyze the self-translation strategies, together with the manipulation and persuasion policies present in the column “30 Días en Madrid/30 Giorni a Madrid” of the journal Legiones y Falanges/Legioni e Falangi. This column, written by the critic Masoliver relating briefly the political events of the time, represents a sample of how, in those times, translation – as intersemiotic processes – could be considered an ideal expression of a linguistic ideology, as well as an expression of the desire to build a national identity.

This paper aims to contribute to the study of translation or omission of operadores and conectores in Italian and Spanish written discourse, through the analysis of a corpus extracted from the bilingual magazine Legioni e Falangi/Legiones y Falanges. Il presente articolo è dedicato al confronto tra l’uso del gerundio in italiano e spagnolo; a differenza di quanto si potrebbe pensare a prima vista, la loro corrispondenza formale non implica un identico uso sintattico. La divergenza principale è data dal gerundio predicativo, molto diffuso in spagnolo e agrammaticale in italiano, divergenza che è dovuta a una differente evoluzione sintattica risalente ai primi secoli delle lingue romanze.
