Linked amido-indenyl complexes of titanium
1996
Abstract Titanium complexes Ti( η 5 : η 1 -C 9 H 6 SiMe 2 NCMe 3 )X 2 (X = Cl, Me, CH 2 SiMe 3 , CH 2 Ph) containing the tert -amino-functionalized indenyl ligand C 9 H 6 SiMe 3 NCMe 3 have been synthesized by the reaction of the dilithium derivative Li 2 [C 9 H 6 SiMe 2 NCMe 3 ] with TiCl 3 (THF) 3 followed by oxidation or by the alkylation of the dichloro derivative. Unexpectedly, the reaction of C 9 H 6 (SiMe 3 )(SiMe 2 Cl) with TiCl 4 does not give Ti( η 5 -C 9 H 6 SiMe 2 Cl)Cl 3 .
Synthesis of tritium labeled ()-1-[2(triphenylmethoxy)ethyl]-3-piperidinecarboxylic acid: a possible compound to determine the efficacy of potential…
2000
(±)-1-[2-(Triphenyl[ 3 H]methoxy)ethyl]-3-piperidinecarboxylic acid ([ 3 H]SNAP-5114) with a specific activity of 40 Ci/mmol was prepared in a two step synthesis starting from ethyl (2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)bis(4-methoxyphenyl)methoxy)-ethyl)piperidine-3-carboxylate and [ 3 H]methyliodide with subsequent hydrolysis of the resulting ester with lithium hydroxide to yield the desired [ 3 H]SNAP-5114.
Thermal-hydraulic and thermo-mechanical simulations of Water-Heavy Liquid Metal interactions towards the DEMO WCLL breeding blanket design
2019
Abstract The Water-Cooled Lithium Lead breeding blanket concept foresees the eutectic lithium-lead (Pb-15.7Li) alloy being cooled by pressurized sub-cooled water (temperature 295–328 °C; pressure 15.5 MPa) flowing in double wall tubes. Therefore, the interaction between the Pb-15.7Li and water (e.g. tube rupture) represents one of the main safety concerns for the design and safety analysis. Available LIFUS5/Mod2 experimental data are employed to assess the performances of thermal-hydraulic and thermo-mechanic codes. Thermal-hydraulic simulations, by SIMMER-III code, are focused on the prediction of the thermodynamic interaction among the fluids. ABAQUS Finite Element code, used for the desi…
Numerical and experimental validation of a LiFePO4 battery model at steady state and transient operations
2013
In the paper some of the battery models proposed in literature are analysed in order to predict the battery performance and, then, make sure that the Battery Management System (BMS) that is a key component to check and control the status of the batteries within their specified safe operating conditions, works in best conditions.
NEAR INFRARED PICOSECOND PULSED BACKWARD SECOND-HARMONIC-GENERATION IN PERIODICALLY-POLED LITHIUM NIOBATE
2011
We report on backward second-harmonic-generation in bulk periodically-poled congruent lithium niobate with a 3.2μm period. A picosecond pulsed laser allowed us exciting a resonance at 1722nm. The resonances were also resolved by temperature tuning.

Atomic layer deposition of lithium containing thin films
2009
Five different lithium containing compounds, all representing different chemical systems, were studied in order to deposit lithium containing films by atomic layer deposition ALD. The studied compounds were a lithium β-diketonate Li(thd) (thd = 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionate), a lithium alkoxide LiOtBu (OtBu = tert-butoxide), a lithium cyclopentadienyl LiCp (Cp = cyclopentadienyl), a lithium alkyl n-butyllithium, and a lithium amide lithium dicyclohexylamide. Films containing lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) were obtained from alternate pulsing of Li(thd) and ozone in a temperature range of 185–300 °C. The film composition was analyzed by time-of-flight elastic recoil detection analysis (…
Enantioselective α-alkylation of unsaturated carboxylic acids using a chiral lithium amide
2001
Abstract The regio- and stereochemistry of the alkylation of dienediolates from unsaturated carboxylic acids with benzylic halides, which often results in mixtures of isomers, can be controlled by means of changes in the lithium amide, allowing the α-regioisomer to be obtained as the major diastereoisomer. In addition, when chiral amines are used, moderate enantiomeric excesses can be attained.
Early transition metal derivatives stabilised by the phenylenediamido 1,2-C6H4(NCH2tBu)2 ligand: Synthesis, characterisation and reactivity studies: …
2009
Abstract Li 2 [1,2-C 6 H 4 (NCH 2 t Bu) 2 ] reacts with one equiv of [TiCl 4 (THF) 2 ] in refluxing toluene to give the chelate compound [Ti{1,2-C 6 H 4 (NCH 2 t Bu) 2 }Cl 2 (THF)] ( 1 ), isolated as a black product, while the reaction of the dilithio diamido salt with one equiv of [ZrCl 4 (THF) 2 ] in refluxing toluene affords the dinuclear zirconium derivative [Zr{1,2-C 6 H 4 (NCH 2 t Bu) 2 }Cl(THF)(μ-Cl)] 2 ( 2 ), obtained as an orange solid. Treatment of the dilithio diamido salt with TaCl 5 in a 2:1 molar ratio in toluene yields [Ta{1,2-C 6 H 4 (NCH 2 t Bu) 2 } 2 Cl] ( 3 ) as a red product. The reaction of 1,2-C 6 H 4 (NHCH 2 t Bu) 2 with [Zr(NMe 2 ) 4 ] in toluene at room temperature …
