2003

For the past few years, companies within the telecommunication and media industry have been operating within the environment of digital convergence. Internet Service Providers especially are, therefore, confronted with a new competitive landscape, which is characterized by an increased complexity and dynamics. This development implies a need for change in the strategic alignment, a change away from transaction towards relationship orientation understanding loyal customers as an asset. In many different industrial and service providing sectors customer satisfaction is regarded as the key to customer loyalty. However, this relationship is influenced by several other variables, such as the con…

Logistic service quality and technology: a comparison between supplier–retailer and retailer–consumer relationships

2008

Physical distribution quality can be considered as a differentiation factor and, in this way, as a source of competitive advantage. Nevertheless, there is neither consensus about its dimensions, or on how it might be influenced by technological solutions. The present paper aims at identifying the main antecedents of logistic service quality, examining the influence of technology on logistic service quality and analysing its effects on firm results in terms of customer satisfaction and loyalty in different levels of the marketing channel. The proposed structural equations model is tested empirically in two different samples: 400 consumers and 304 distributors. For both samples, technology as…

Analysis of the impact of length of stay on the quality of service experience, satisfaction and loyalty

2017

Although length of stay is a relevant variable in destination management, little research has been produced connecting it with tourists' post-consumption behaviour. This research compares the post-consumption behaviour of same-day visitors with overnight tourists in a sample of 398 domestic vacationers at two Mediterranean heritage-and-beach destinations. Although economic research on length of stay posits that there are destination benefits in longer stays, same-day visitors score higher in most of the post-consumption variables under study. Significant differences arise in hedonic aspects of the tourist experience and destination loyalty. Thus, we propose that length of stay can be used a…

The role of the brand in driving online loyalty for multichannel retailers

2015

Multichannel retailers offer shoppers the possibility to cross channels to complete their shopping process. Multichannel retailers, unlike pure online sellers, offer shoppers multiple contact points to experience the brand. Also, multichannel retailers can leverage the trust and attachment to their brands that has been built with their offline presence to drive customers to buy online. Our paper explores the role of the customer relationship with the brand, with variables such as brand trust, brand attachment and length of brand relationship, as drivers of loyal behaviours towards the online channel. We compare the impact of these variables with those of the technology acceptance model. Mul…

Factors contributing brand attitude in advergames: Entertainment and irritation

2012

The main contribution of this article is to offer new insights into the antecedents of brand attitude in an advergaming context, focusing on entertainment and irritation as its main drivers. Also, the indirect effect of intrusiveness and congruence on brand attitude is analyzed. A structured questionnaire was completed by a sample of 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students after playing to a real casual advergame. The results show that entertainment is the main driver of brand attitude although irritation also exerts a significant effect on brand attitude due to perceived intrusiveness that, in turn, is determined by incongruence. The study provides useful managerial implications for co…
