Energy Efficient Optimization for Computation Offloading in Fog Computing System

In this paper, we investigate the energy efficient computation offloading scheme in a multi-user fog computing system. We consider the users need to make the decision on whether to offload the tasks to the fog node nearby, based on the energy consumption and delay constraint. In particular, we utilize queuing theory to bring a thorough study on the energy consumption and execution delay of the offloading process. Preliminary design process for an adaptive winglet

In the framework of Clean Sky 2 Airgreen 2 GRA ITD project, this paper deals with the design process of a morphing winglet for a regional aircraft. By improving A/C aerodynamic efficiency in off-design flight conditions, the morphing winglet is expected to operate during long (cruise) and short (climb and descent) mission phases to reduce aircraft drag and optimize lift distribution, while providing augmented roll and yaw control capability. Robust adaptive tracking control of uncertain systems with time-varying input delays

ABSTRACTIn this paper, the problem of robust adaptive tracking control of uncertain systems with time-varying input delays is studied. Under some mild assumptions, a robust adaptive controller is designed by using adaptive backstepping technique such that the system is globally stable and the system output can track a given reference signal. At the same time, a root mean square type of bound is obtained for the tracking error as a function of design parameters and thus can be adjusted. Finally, one numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Despite having proven successful in generating precise motions under dynamic conditions in highly deformable soft-bodied robots, model based techniques are also prone to robustness issues connected to the intrinsic uncertain nature of the dynamics of these systems. In practice, modelling errors caused by high-order unmodelled dynamics and external disturbances are unavoidable. How to ensure the robustness of an adaptive controller with respect to such modelling errors is always a critical concern. In this study, the authors consider the design of event-triggered robust adaptive control for a class of discrete-time uncertain systems which involve such modelling errors and also are allowed to be non-minimum phase. Dynamic Modeling of Planar Multi-Link Flexible Manipulators

A closed-form dynamic model of the planar multi-link flexible manipulator is presented. The assumed modes method is used with the Lagrangian formulation to obtain the dynamic equations of motion. Explicit equations of motion are derived for a three-link case assuming two modes of vibration for each link. The eigenvalue problem associated with the mass boundary conditions, which changes with the robot configuration and payload, is discussed. The time-domain simulation results and frequency-domain analysis of the dynamic model are presented to show the validity of the theoretical derivation.
