Selection efficiency as a function of transverse kinetic energy $E^\text{kin}_\text{T}=E_\text{kin}\sin\theta$ and pseudorapidity $|\eta|$ for $g=1g_\textrm{D}$ monopoles of mass 200 GeV.
Moritz Brosig (1815-1887) - działalność organoznawcza na Śląsku Opolskim na podstawie zbiorów Archiwum Państwowego w Opolu
2020

Harmful and Protective Effects of Phenolic Compounds from African Medicinal Plants
2014
Phenolic phytochemicals include flavonoids, phenolic acids, tannins, lignans, coumarins, quinones, xanthones, cucurmin, and several other plant compounds owing hydroxyl group bonded directly to an aromatic hydrocarbon group. In plants, they play a variety of protective effects against abiotic stresses like UV light or biotic stresses such as predator and pathogen attacks. This role is exploited by humans to treat several ailments including bacterial, fungal, protozoal and viral infections, inflammation, cancer, and diabetes. Numbers of them are known to display direct protection on cells or organs in humans and animals. In contrast, some of others rather have harmful or toxic effects. In th…
The physics programme of the MoEDAL experiment at the LHC
2014
The MoEDAL experiment at Point 8 of the LHC ring is the seventh and newest LHC experiment. It is dedicated to the search for highly ionizing particle avatars of physics beyond the Standard Model, extending significantly the discovery horizon of the LHC. A MoEDAL discovery would have revolutionary implications for our fundamental understanding of the Microcosm. MoEDAL is an unconventional and largely passive LHC detector comprised of the largest array of Nuclear Track Detector stacks ever deployed at an accelerator, surrounding the intersection region at Point 8 on the LHC ring. Another novel feature is the use of paramagnetic trapping volumes to capture both electrically and magnetically ch…
Multiphoton annihilation of monopolium
2017
We show that due to the large coupling constant of the monopole-photon interaction the annihilation of monopole-antimonopole and monopolium into many photons must be considered experimentally. For monopole-antimonopole annihilation and lightly bound monopolium, even in the less favorable scenario, multi-photon events (four and more photons in the final state) are dominant, while for strongly bound monopolium, although two photon events are important, four and six photon events are also sizable.
O Śląsku i badaniach śląskoznawczych raz jeszcze
2019
The present workoffers a synthetic review of the state of studies on a broadly-understood culture of Silesia and the language of this region. The author discusses the achievements of folklorists, experts in culture studies and linguists, especially those based in Opole Region and connected with the University of Opole and the State Scientific Institute – the Silesian Institute. Attention is paid to the continuing need for carrying out Silesian studies and the necessity of searching for new methodological solutions. The text also foreruns the appearance of a series of articles included in this monograph, which are devoted to the cultural heritage of Silesia – shownfrom different perspectives…
Po co światu teologia? 25 lat Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego
2019
The 25th anniversary of the first Theological Faculty of the Opole University (the first created in a state university in Poland after 1945) is an opportunity to evoke its history and activities. The first chapter, by Mons. Alfons Nossol (Why the Opole region does need the University?), one of fathers of the University, describes the first efforts of Opole academic community in the early 1980’s to create the University in Opole. In the second chapter (From the Affiliated Faculty of KUL to the Faculty of Theology of Opole University), Rev. Helmut J. Sobeczko, the first Dean of the Faculty, explains the history of Opole theological community, indicating its sources in the Theological Seminary…
O utworzeniu Parku Narodowego "Puszcza Śląska"
2016
National Park is in Рolish law one of the most important protection form that is dedicated to areas sustained in natural conditions, having fairly untouched vegetation and biodiversity. Despite that the Silesian Forest-Nature District has a unique areas in terms of nature values as well as cultural and biodiversity heritage, no national parks were established here until now. In the proposed national park of Silesian Forest 50 legally protected plant species were noted, in this 16 listed as threatened in Polish Red Data Book. More than 130 plant species were found rare within the area. Approximately 250 legally protected animal species are found within park borders that are permanent residen…
Budżet obywatelski – analiza porównawcza Gorzowa Wielkopolskiego i Opola
2020
