Maģistra darba nosaukums “Transdisciplināras mācīšanās process pārmaiņu izglītībā”. Project-Based Learning: A Case for Situated Translation

The author proposes replacing the folk theoretical ‘conduit’ view of learning that still predominates in Translator Education with a principled understanding of cognitive and learning processes for the design of learning events in Translator Education. A collaborative, project-based educational experience is presented by way of illustration. In conclusion, an argument is made for studying collaborative learning events to gain insight into the multi-facetted nature of the learning process as well as of the translation process itself.

Trauksmes saistība ar stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijām un fizisko aktivitāti

Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot saistību starp trauksmi, stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijam un fiziskām aktivitātēm. Pētījumā piedalījās 113 respondenti vecumā no 18 līdz 76 gadiem. Trauksmes līmeņa mērīšanai tika izmantota Spīlbergera „Trauksmes stāvokļa-iezīmes aptauja” (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Spilberger, 1983). Latvijā to adaptējusi Daina Škuškovnika, 2004. Stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju noteikšanai tika izmantota „Stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju aptauja” (The Coping Orientation of Problem Experience (COPE Inventory), Carver, Scheier & Weintraub, 1989). The study of moral judgements often centres on moral dilemmas in which options consistent with deontological perspectives (that is, emphasizing rules, individual rights and duties) are in conflict with options consistent with utilitarian judgements (that is, following the greater good based on consequences). Greene et al. (2009) showed that psychological and situational factors (for example, the intent of the agent or the presence of physical contact between the agent and the victim) can play an important role in moral dilemma judgements (for example, the trolley problem). Musculoskeletal disorders and disability among forest industry workers in lower and higher sickness absence groups: a case-control study

Background: Musculoskeletal wellbeing and disorders and explanatory factors were investigated among forest industry employees. Methods: A new positive approach to maintenance of working ability focuses on being present at work. 140 individuals with low sickness absence (≤1.5% in hours during the past 6.5 years) and 140 controls with higher sickness absence (>1.5%), randomly selected from the source population (n = 636) in workplace clusters (n = 5), were studied. Projekt miał tez charakter naukowo-badawczy, którego nadrzędnym celem było poznanie procesu uczenia się z biografii. Intencją autorki było zaprezentowanie działań realizowanych podczas projektu, które miały umożliwić jego uczestniczkom zaobserwowanie procesu uczenia się z własnej biografii w kontekście niepełnosprawności swojego dziecka. Open-air museums are immersive learning environments disseminating ideas about the lifestyle and material culture of pre-modern times. Considering their significance and prevalence in Northern and Eastern Europe, little is known about how contemporary children perceive these cultural heritage spaces. This study scrutinizes how primary school pupils from Sweden and Belarus encountered visits to Skansen (Sweden) and the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle (Belarus) and expressed experiences about their visits in drawings and in follow-up interpretations.
