Students' usage patterns of video recorded lectures in an undergraduate mathematics course

International audience; It is customary for some universities to offer recordings of live lectures to students. Whether this improves learning and academic performance is debated in the literature. As with most technology, correct usage can lead to increased academic performance, but there are also usage patterns that can be considered counter productive, especially for learning mathematics. In order to investigate patterns in students' usage of such online recorded live lectures, we analyze log files from a server holding the recordings of an undergraduate mathematics course. È stata effettuata un’indagine pilota ispirata alla teoria di Pennebaker e ai principi della scuola rogersiana di counseling. 88 studenti del quinto anno di un liceo di Enna hanno partecipato, tra il mese di novembre 2015 e il mese di maggio 2016, a un progetto di orientamento che ha previsto la sperimentazione della metodologia educativa «SeCo» (Scrittura espressiva e Colloquio di orientamento) per la costruzione del loro progetto di vita professionale. Wszyscy z czasem powracamy pamięcią do czasów szkolnych, wspominając różnorakie sytuacje i wydarzenia, w których integralną częścią był nauczyciel. Zapisane w pamięci indywidualne wspomnienia, doświadczenia i refleksje, niejednokrotnie niosą ze sobą emocje - oddziałujące na nasze decyzje, postawy i zachowania - pomimo upływu lat. Vidusskolēnu iesaistes skolā un depresijas pazīmju saistība

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kā vidusskolēnu iesaiste skolā ir saistīta ar novērotajām depresijas pazīmēm. Pētījuma sekundārs mērķis bija izvērtēt, vai pastāv atšķirības starp iesaisti skolā un depresijas pazīmēm un to saistībām meiteņu un zēnu grupā, kā arī grupās ar dažādu depresijas pazīmju izpausmes intensitāti. Pētījumā piedalījās 126 skolēni, no tiem 71 meitene un 55 zēni, vecumā no 16 – 20 gadiem, kuri šobrīd mācās 10.-12. klasē. Kirjallinen tuottaminen on olennainen osa kielten kouluopetusta Suomessa. Perinteisesti kirjalliset tuotokset arvioidaan ja opettaja antaa niistä palautetta. Tämä kandidaatin tutkielma selvittää yhden lukioryhmän osalta, millaista palautetta opettaja antoi heidän kirjoittamistaan esseistä ja kuinka oppilaat kokivat tämän palautteen. Tutkielmassa on käytetty sekä laadullisia että määrällisiä tutkimusotteita. Ensin oppilaat kirjoittivat lukiokurssillaan esseet, jotka opettaja arvosteli ja antoi niistä kommentteja. The constituent resources of this environment involve MyMathLab which is an online interactive system for practicing mathematics, the tutorial videos, and the textbook.
