Vitamin B12 (Vit-B12) deficiency is a rare and treatable cause of failure to thrive and delayed development in infants who are exclusively breastfed. Apart from genetic causes, it can be related to a malabsorption syndrome or when the mother follows a strict vegetarian or vegan diet, causing a low hepatic storage of Vit-B12 in the infant at birth. As the neurological symptoms are nonspecific, a brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam is usually performed to rule out primary causes of neurodevelopmental delay. Findings related to brain atrophy are usually observed. A favorable response is achieved with Vit-B12 therapy, and neurological symptoms dramatically improve within a few days afte…

Abstract A method has been developed, herein presented, to model binary solid solutions' volume, enthalpy and Gibbs energy using the energy state functions, E ( V , S ) , of the end-members only. The E ( V , S ) s are expanded around an unknown mixing volume, V Mix , and the fundamental equilibrium equation − ( ∂ E / ∂ V ) S = P is used to determine V Mix . V Mix allows us to model enthalpy, straightforwardly. The same argument holds using Helmholtz energy, F ( V , T ) , in place of E ( V , S ) , and the equilibrium equation becomes − ( ∂ F / ∂ V ) T = P . Lope defended the usefulness of history presented on stage, that is, theatre’s function of preserving and creating a collective memory. In the case of La nueva victoria de don Gonzalo and La nueva victoria del marqués de Santa Cruz, this playwright dramatized military events that took place immediately before the composition of these plays. In this article i will analyze the fundamental traits of those texts in relation to Lope’s desire to please his patrons and, at the same time, to participate in the making of a Spanish national identity, which intensified during the first years of king Philip IV’s reign through different media, among them painting and theatre.
