Si è conclusa nel mese di maggio del 2019 la prima parte di una ricerca-intervento ispirata alla teoria del pensiero narrativo, ai principi dell’educational counseling e della didattica orientativa. This work analyzes a corpus of written essays by native and non-native learners of English and studies the acquisition of written competence in English through the use of lexical chains.

Ihe article is dcvoted to writers who after emigrating decided to change the language in which they wrote their books from their native language to the language of the country which became their second home. The strategies which are described in the article are determined by the personal experiences of the writers, for whom the choice of a second language in which their works were to be written became an opportunity to express various attitudes. W artykule postawiona została teza, iż ze względu na wzrost rangi umiejętności pisania we współczesnym świecie konieczna wydaje się potrzeba dydaktycznej refleksji nad uczeniem pisania w L1, tym bardziej że koncepcje kształcenia tej kompetencji powstały jeszcze w XX wieku, w zgoła odmiennej rzeczywistości kulturowo-komunikacyjnej, i trwają w edukacji polonistycznej do dziś. Norms and Ideologies of Academic Writing on an International Master’s Programme in Finland

This ethnographically-oriented study followed the experiences of six (later four) students on an international master’s programme in Finland. Programmes such as this combine culturally, linguistically and often academically diverse students, using English as a lingua franca for course completion and evaluation, rather than the official language of the institution. My aim was to explore the norms and ideologies of English academic writing on the programme, or, in other words, what counts as ‘good’ writing for participants in this increasingly common context of English use for academic purposes.
