Il contributo illustra i risultati della prima campagna di scavi dell’Università di Palermo nell’area a Sud del Tempio di Zeus Olympios ad Agrigento. Dai nuovi elementi emersi si ricostruisce un’articolata stratificazione insediativa e monumentale dell’area, e si evidenzia la complessità di un contesto che, pur ampiamente sondato nel secolo scorso, e privato quasi per intero dei livelli relativi alle fasi di rioccupazione, ai crolli e all’ultimo periodo di vita delle grandi strutture messe in luce, consente ancora di cogliere preziosi indizi delle diverse fasi di realizzazione dei complessi architettonici e delle preesistenze. Zeusi e la bellezza di Elena

Dall’antichità fino al Settecento (Plinio, Cicerone, Boccaccio, Ghiberti, Pico della Mirandola, Alberti, Ludovico Dolce, Bellori, Giovan Battista Marino, Batteux), vengono esaminate le varianti dell’aneddoto di Zeusi (V-IV sec. a. C.) che, per dipingere Elena nel tempio di Hera lacinia, prese a modello le cinque più belle fanciulle di Crotone. Nelle varie fonti la vicenda oscilla tra imitazione realistica e idealizzante; attraverso l’analisi di queste trasformazioni semantiche si tenta di dimostrare come la storia di Zeus, lungi dal costituire un mero topos, assurga a paradigma ermeneutico della creazione artistica.

Relationship between sensory profiles and odor-active compounds detected by Gas-Chromatography olfactometry

Cheese flavour has been widely studied and key-aroma compounds identified. However the strategies involved were mostly correlation studies between quantitative measurements of aroma compounds and either gas chromatography olfactometry (GC-O) data or sensory data. These correlations do not take in account the differences in the Stevens’ slopes relating sensory perception and concentration and perception thresholds. The objective of this study was thus to explain sensory perception of cheese by the intensity of single molecules measured by GC-O analysis. International audience; Les études consacrées à la synthèse, par réaction solide-solide, du titanate de baryum (BaTiO3) ont montré l'importance des propriétés physicochimiques des solides initiaux (BaCO3 et TiO2) sur les propriétés du titanate obtenu. Lors de l'élaboration de céramiques diélectriques, il est en effet nécessaire d'éviter la formation de phases intermédiaires (Ba2TiO4, BaTi4O9, ...) qui nuisent à leurs propriétés diélectriques. Inclusive photoproduction of bottom quarks for low and medium p T in the general-mass variable-flavour-number scheme

We present predictions for b-quark production in photoprodcution and compare with experimental data from HERA. Our theoretical predictions are obtained at next-to-leading-order in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme, an approach which takes into account the finite mass of the b quarks. We use realistic evolved nonperturbative fragmentation functions obtained from fits to e+e- data. We find in general good agreement of data with both the GM-VFNS and the FFNS calculations, while the more precise ZEUS data seem to prefer the GM-VFNS predictions.
