This first synthesis concerns the animal bones, discovered since 1975 in Aventicum, the capital of Roman Switzerland. It is supported by the analysis of several residential districts, public sectors and suburbs, which represent five hundred chronological complexes and 74000 animal bones, dated from the Ist, to the IVth Century AD. During these centuries, Aventicum was incorporated to the Roman province of Gallia Belgica, then was raised to the status of a colonia and finally declined with the Empire.The analysis of bones was made to study various mutations which occurred during the occupation of the city. Catalytic activity of solvated and unsolvated lanthanide halides in Friedel–Crafts acylations

Abstract Anhydrous lanthanide halides — chlorides and bromides — can act as homogeneous catalysts of Friedel–Crafts acylations. The catalytic activity is related to the solubility of these anhydrous salts. More soluble THF or dioxane (Diox.) neodymium and samarium adducts are more active catalysts.
UraniumIV and uranyle salts, efficient and reusable catalysts for acylation of aromatic compounds

Abstract Uranium tetrachloride, uranyle chloride, fluoride and also nitrate or acetate are very efficient homogeneous catalysts for the Friedel–Crafts acylation of aromatic compounds. With uranyle salts, the reaction, carried under dry air, is highly specific and the mono- or bisacylation products are obtained in high yield. Uranyle catalyst can be quantitatively recovered and reused and the organic products are obtained free of uranium.
Friedel-Crafts catalytic alkylations using rare earth-based mineral supports

Abstract Rare earth halides supported on mineral supports (K10 montmorillonite and silica) were investigated as catalysts for Friedel-Crafts alkylations. This project concerns the replacement of the widely used Lewis acid AlCl3 in Friedel-Crafts reactions by environmentally friendly catalysts in that they circumvent the production of aluminum waste. The catalytic activity of these heterogeneous catalysts was established in a series of alkylations of aromatic compounds.

This paper is a critical essay on the social value of craftsmen in ancient Greece as well of the merit and ethic responsibility connected to the social use of their skills and forms of knowledge, the so-called technai. On one hand a low grade of social consideration was attributed to craftsmen, especially among the upper classes in the Greek cities; on the other hand, craft and technical skills were an essential medium for all the material products and commodities to be supplied for the citizens. Este trabajo tiene por objeto realizar una aproximación a las artesanías sobre materias duras de origen animal durante la Edad del Hierro en la PI y al estudio de los materiales como un medio para acercarnos a la sociedad que los produjo. La problemática abordada contempla los procesos de la producción artesanal, la transmisión del conocimiento y la circulación de algunos de estos bienes. Hemos elegido dos tipos de piezas singulares: los peines de marfil y las placas de telar de hueso. Pieczęcie oprócz funkcji prawnej zawierają też istotny element komunikacyjny. W artykule przeanalizowano wybrane śląskie pieczęcie nawiązujące do działalności zawodowej ludności, które były używane w kancelariach miejskich, cechów rzemieślniczych oraz przez gminy wiejskie. Zidentyfikowano symbole poszukując typowych przedstawień dla określonych grup dysponentów.
