A laboratory study of the mineralization and binding of 14C-labeled herbicide rimsulfuron in a rendzina soil
1999
Abstract The fate of pyrimidine-2- 14 C-rimsulfuron in a rendzina soil was investigated using a laboratory microcosm approach. Measurement of CO 2 evolution suggested that rimsulfuron applied at 5 times the recommended dose did not affect soil respiration. Under abiotic conditions, no mineralization of 14 C-rimsulfuron into 14 C-CO 2 occured and under biotic ones it was very low reaching 0.75 % of the applied 14 C-rimsulfuron after 246 days of incubation. The analysis of data showed that a three-half order model provided the best fit for the mineralization curve. Extractable 14 C-residues decreased over time to 70 – 80% of the applied 14 C-rimsulfuron at the end of the incubation. After 246…
Enhanced extraction of astragalosides from Radix Astragali by negative pressure cavitation-accelerated enzyme pretreatment.
2010
The optimal conditions for extraction of astragalosides III and IV (AGs III and IV) in Radix Astragali by negative pressure cavitation-accelerated enzyme pretreatment were studied on the basis of a Box-Behnken design and response surface methodology. Experimental results showed that negative pressure, amount of enzyme and incubation temperature were the main factors governing the enzyme pretreatment of Radix Astragali. The optimum parameters were obtained as follows: negative pressure -0.08 Mpa, amount of enzyme 1.48% (w/w of materials) and incubation temperature 45 degrees C. Under the optimal conditions, the maximal extraction yields of AGs III and IV were 0.103 and 0.325 mg/g, which were…
Isolation of a Putative Hydroxyacyl Enzyme Intermediate of an Epoxide Hydrolase
1994
A putative covalent, alpha-hydroxyacyl intermediate was isolated by the brief exposure of murine soluble epoxide hydrolase to its substrate. The reaction was reversed by time and blocked by competitive inhibitors. The formation of the intermediate was dependent upon the concentration of the enzyme and was increased by incubation under acidic conditions. The structure of the intermediate was supported by microchemical methods.
Distribution of chlorpromazine in a simplified blood influenced by various drugs
1973
The binding of chlorpromazine to erythrocytes and to albumin as influenced by other drugs was studied in a simplified blood (31.5±0.3% bovine erythrocytes, 4 g-% bovine serum albumin in 0.02 M phosphate buffer solution containing 0.15 M NaCl). the total concentration of chlorpromazine in the simplified blood was 10−4 M, the concentration of the displacing drugs was 10−3 M. After an incubation period of 3 h at 22° C the chlorpromazine concentration was determined in the albumin solution after centrifugation of the blood at 3000×g and in the aqueous phase after ultracentrifugation at 150000×g. Under control conditions 68.1±0.9% of chlorpromazine was bound to the erythrocytes, 28.5±0.9% was bo…
Quantitative contributions of IgG, IgM and C3 to erythrophagocytosis and rosette formation by peritoneal macrophages, and anti-opsonin activity of de…
1976
In vitro phagocytosis by guinea pig peritoneal macrophages of immune complexes (EA) was shown to be dependent on IgG antibody in a dose-dependent fashion. C3b enhanced phagocytosis of EA at limited IgG antibody concentrations only. When IgM antibody was used for sensitization of sheep red blood cells (SRBC), phagocytosis and rosette formation did not occur in the absence of bound C3. The polyanion, dextran sulfate 500 (DS), was shown to depress both rosette formation and phagocytosis of EAIgG, C1423 and EAIgMC1423, as well as immune adherence of human group 0 erythrocytes and hemolytic activity of C3. This effect of DS was seen only when it was actually present in the incubation medium.
Effect of diluent composition on the dynamics of sperm DNA fragmentation and other sperm quality parameters in ram during incubation at 37°C
2015
Abstract This study was conducted to assess the effect of different semen extenders on the dynamics of sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) and other quality sperm parameters in ram. To this end, second ejaculates from 6 adult males were collected using an artificial vagina and diluted in either INRA-96 ® , milk, MOPS, TRIS, TES, HEPES, citrate or phosphate-based extenders. Semen samples were incubated at 37 °C and the SDF, motility and membrane integrity were assessed after 0, 3, 6 and 24 h intervals. Significantly higher SDF indexes were obtained at 6 and 24 h of incubation in the milk-based than in all the buffer-based extenders. At 24 h, sperm diluted in INRA also reached a higher SDF than MOP…
Delta 5-desaturation of dihomogammalinolenic acid (20:3(n-6)) into arachidonic acid (20:4(n-6)) by rat liver microsomes and incorporation of fatty ac…
1991
Abstract Liver microsomes of rats fed an essential fatty acid (EFA)-deficient diet or a commercial balanced diet were used to study the effect of incubation time on the Δ 5 -desaturation of [ 14 C] dihomogammalinolenic acid (20:3( n −6)) into arachidonic acid (20:4( n −6)) and incorporation of the two acids into microsomal phospholipids. The EFA-deficient diet highly increased the desaturation rate of 20:3( n −6). Incorporation of the formed 20:4( n −6) into microsomal phospholipids was also increased but at saturating concentration of substrate only. At early times of incubation, the precursor 20:3( n −6) was rapidly incorporated into phospholipids. Formation and incorporation of 20:4( n −…
Facilitating innovation in FinTech: a review and research agenda
2022
AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to carry out content analyses on the existing literature to investigate the knowledge state of innovation facilitators adopted to promote financial innovation. In total, 56 papers were analysed using the NVivo software package. Three categories of innovation facilitators emerged from the literature capturing the perspective of regulators, incumbents and new entrants. Each identified instrument is defined and its processes and implications described. Many initiatives were led by regulators, revealing a regulatory strategy change from risk-based to opportunity-based regulation, with regulatory sandboxes being the most commonly adopted instrument. Incumbent…

Influence of the heat treatment on the degradation of the minor Fusarium mycotoxin beauvericin
2012
Abstract Beauvericin (BEA) is a bioactive compound produced by the secondary metabolism of several Fusarium strains and known to have various biological activities. This study investigated the degradation of the minor Fusarium mycotoxin BEA present in the concentration of 5 mg/kg in a model solution and in different crispy breads produced with different flours typologies (corn, hole, wheat, durum wheat, soy and rice) during the heat treatment carried out in an oven at three different temperatures of 160, 180 and 200 °C and at 3, 6, 10, 15 and 20 min incubation. The concentration of the bioactive compound studied, analyzed with the technique of the liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrome…
