Unveiling pure-metal ejecta X-ray emission in supernova remnants through their radiative recombination continuum

Spectral analysis of X-ray emission from ejecta in supernova remnants (SNRs) is hampered by the low spectral resolution of CCD cameras, which creates a degeneracy between the best-fit values of abundances and emission measure. The combined contribution of shocked ambient medium and ejecta to the X-ray emission complicates the determination of the ejecta mass and chemical composition, leading to big uncertainties in mass estimates and it can introduce a bias in the comparison between the observed ejecta composition and the yields predicted by explosive nucleosynthesis. Estimation of power supply harmonic impedance using a controlled voltage disturbance

A novel method for power system impedance estimation is presented. The method employs a power converter to inject a voltage transient onto the supply system. The impedance is estimated through correlation of the measured voltage and current transients. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this measurement technique.

By means of this work, we try to analyze how onerous were for the royal town's treasury the expenses derived from their attendance to Assemblies. For this, we are taking, as an example, the royal town of Alcoy in the <i>Cortes</i> of 1443. We have based our study in the <i>Proceso de Cortes</i> and in municipal sources.<br><br>Mediante este trabajo, pretendemos analizar el peso que tenían en la hacienda de las villas reales los gastos derivados de su asistencia a Cortes. Para ello tomaremos como ejemplo la villa de Alcoy en las Cortes de 1443-1446, basando nuestro análisis en el Proceso de Cortes y en fuentes municipales.

We used the three latest rounds of the religion module of International Social Survey Programme to study secularization in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, focusing on belief in God. We restricted our sample to the affiliated with the majority Protestant churches and the unaffiliated and analyzed the trends toward disaffiliation and disbelief in God. Then, we studied the association between confidence in churches, religious/secular upbringing, and demographic controls with belief in God using multinomial logistic regression models. The aim of this article is to provide an initial survey about the relationship between food habits and health in a Mediterranean city during the Late Middle Ages, by comparing medical treatises, gastronomic recipes and the archival sources that tell us about the actual expenses in food. Through this comparison, and by using accounting records of aristocratic houses, merchant enterprises, convents and hospitals, we can observe the dietary guidelines that were applied, and their concordance with the galenic principles of University medicine. Current studies of the electrical impedance and admittance characteristics of the anodised aluminum oxide (AAO) nanoporous arrays and bismuth sulphide (Bi2S3) nanowire within AAO membranes are presented. The influence of potential and frequency scan rate effect produced on the real, imaginary and complex electrochemical impedance and double layer capacitance of the AAO nanopore and the Bi2S3 nanowire arrays were studied.
