Diseño de una rúbrica para evaluar trabajos en grupo: revisión y reflexión
2016
[EN] Rubrics are scoring guides that, when done right, offer teachers some advantages while qualifying. Our experience consisted in elaborate a rubric to evaluate the group work and analyze the qualifications obtained, broken down by sections and compare them with weight given to each section within the rubric. The aim of our study was to analyze whether the rubric used was discriminatory, as well as, to detect strengths and weaknesses in the designed rubric. The results showed a wide range of qualifications once evaluated with our rubric. 80% of rubric featured well-defined descriptors and of the remaining 20%, 10% was evaluated by students and the other 10% was too subjective because eval…

La docencia de la traducción audiovisual y de lenguas extranjeras. Puntos de encuentro
2016
[EN] Increasingly, we can build new bridges between related fields of education. This makes it possible to use techniques that were originally designed for one specific area of teaching, in others. An example of this can be, on the one hand, the teaching of audiovisual translation and, secondly, the teaching of foreign languages. We can find instances of this possibility in recent and noteworthy works in which, for example, the application of subtitles to learn a foreign language is explored. Thus, along the same lines, the main objective of this article is the search for other possible avenues of connection between the two areas mentioned above, taking advantage of new technologies and of …

2015
[EN] In this paper we use the Wiki platform to facilitate, among our students, learning a branch of the Corporate Finance: the dividend policy following the listed companies. This is an inexact science, therefore, there are many factors involved in that policy and many skills that students must relate to, so we consider very appropriate the collaborative approach to learning. Developing a Wiki facilitates a more active participation by the student and, consequently, the development of critical thinking that facilitates the understanding of finance. The result of the study shows the main advantage of this method of teaching and learning, student interest and the high degree of participation …

2015
[EN] Within the context of UPV’s project for improving the learning process through innovation, the TASCA group has developed and applied different strategies to assess student’s out-of-class work. This work has allowed us to collect feedback from proposed out-of-class activities, like whether the deadlines for assignments have been under or overestimated, or students’ opinion, to improve thos activities. We have test the usefulness of these strategies in nine different degrees. In general, there is a great variability in the time students devote to a given task and, in some cases, no positive correlation is observed between that time and the obtained results. Hence, by performing this kind…

Cine y ética en contabilidad: una experiencia sobre la mejora en sensibilidad ética
2021
[EN] In this paper we present a learning experience in which for the first time we introduce cinema as a teaching methodology in a higher level accounting course to explore the concept of ethical sensitivity. Our study shows that the ethical sensitivity achieved with the viewing of the film positively impacts the student's grade. The students most satisfied with this learning methodology were the ones who got a good answer for the question on ethics in the questionnaire- which would imply a greater ethical motivation and ethical character. However, no conclusions can be drawn about the significance of the impact on the qualification of ethical motivation or the ethical character developed i…
