High‐Efficiency Perovskite Solar Cells Using Molecularly Engineered, Thiophene‐Rich, Hole‐Transporting Materials: Influence of Alkyl Chain Length on …

2016

The synthesis and characterization of a series of novel small-molecule hole-transporting materials (HTMs) based on an anthra[1,2-b:4,3-b′:5,6-b′′:8,7-b′′′]tetrathiophene (ATT) core are reported. The new compounds follow an easy synthetic route and have no need of expensive purification steps. The novel HTMs are tested in perovskite solar cells and power conversion efficiencies (PCE) of up to 18.1% under 1 sun irradiation are measured. This value is comparable with the 17.8% efficiency obtained using 2,2′,7,7′-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9′-spirobifluorene as a reference compound. Similarly, a significant quenching of the photoluminescence in the first nanosecond is observed, ind…

Spermidine and morphogenesis in single cell cultures of Sideritis angustifolia lag.

1990

Abstract Single cells from hypocotyl-derived callus of Sideritis angustifolia were evaluated for morphogenesis when cultured in either solidifier or liquid Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with various concentrations of spermidine, naphthaeneacetic acid (NAA), benzyladenine (BA) and dicyclohexylamine (DCHA). Spermidine (Spd) did not replace the hormonal requirements for cell division and callus formation, but affected growth induced by NAA or BA. This polyamine increased the plating efficiency of cells cultured in the presence of NAA (0.05, 0.54 and 5.40 μM) or BA (0.40, 4.40 and 8.80 μM). In contrast, Spd reduced growth induced by 10.80 μM NAA, optimal auxin concentration for callus…

Demonstration and study of characters of foliar « compensatory growth» phenomenon in grapevine (<em>Vitis vinifera</em> L.)

1996

<p style="text-align: justify;">Defoliation and decapitation experiments showed that the growth of a grapevine leaf was inhibited by both the terminal bud and the younger higher leaves. There is a phenomenon of synergy between these two influences. A young leaf freed of these two influences showed a higher growth rate than the norm ; this is « compensatory growth ». It is when a leaf is in its phase of maximal growth that it is most able to realize this &laquo compensatory growth ». This is not due to a longer growth time, but more to a faster growth rate. This « compensatory growth » is not the consequence of competition between leaf growth and internodal elongation. Exogenou…

Morphogenesis in callus and single-cell cultures ofLavandula latifoliaMedicus

1990

Procedures and factors promoting plant regeneration from callus and isolated cells were investigated in Lavandula latifolia Medicus. Callus was obtained from cotyledon explants cultured on MS medium supplemented with 0.34 (xM 2,4-D. These calli regenerated adventitious buds when transferred to MS medium containing either BA or several auxin (IAA or NAA)/BA combinations, best results being obtained in the presence of 8.80 (mi BA alone or in combination with 0.06 and 0.60 (xM IAA or NAA. Single cells from cotyledon-derived calli were able to proliferate as callus when plated in MS medium supplemented with IAA or several IAA/BA combinations. Best plating efficiency was achieved when cells were…

Photovoltaic effect in bulk heterojunction system with glass forming indandione derivative DMABI-6Ph

2018

The aim of the work is to evaluate possible use of 2-[[4-(bis(2-trityloxyethyl)amino)phenyl]methylene]indane-1,3-dione (DMABI-6Ph) as light absorbing material for solar cells. DMABI-6Ph is a perspective material due to its good photoelectrical, thermal and chemical properties. The main advantage of DMABI-6Ph is its ability to form amorphous films by wet-casting methods thus allowing using the compound in organic solar cells made from solution. For now most popular materials for solution processable solar cells are polymer P3HT and fullerene derivative PCBM, but lot of investigations are in the field of new low molecular weight materials to replace the polymer. Photoelectrical measurements w…

Large-Scale Synthesis of Mammalian Gonadoliberin without protection of side-chain functions

1991

A simple, Large-scale preparation of mammalian gonadoliberin was elaborated using classical solution methods without protecting side-chain functions. At the final stage, a hexapeptide segment was condensed with the corresponding tetrapeptide and the obtained decapeptide was purified by a single chromatographic procedure on silica gel. The total efficiency of the whole synthesis and the purity of the product amounted to 34% and 98.3%, respectively.

The detection efficiency of the clover Ge-detectors array at the RITU-GREAT facility

2015

Absolute detection efficiency depending upon its position along the beam line is determined for three germanium detectors, that are part of the GREAT spectrometer at the RITU separator focal plane. The efficiency is determined for an energy range from 80 keV to 1400 keV for all three detectors as an array and also individually using digital electronics. The optimal position for the detector array has been defined for two configurations of the GREAT spectrometer: with planar detector and without it. The obtained results have been compared with three references: a simulation prepared especially for this setup by another student, a previous study that was carried out by applying analogue elect…

Efficiency of Hospital Expenses Projects Funded Through Partnership with an NGO Case Study

2017

In the context of limited resources of a public hospital, constrained by rigid regulations and lowcapacity to invest in the purpose of satisfying the raising needs of the patients, the health facilityembraced the solutions to partner with an NGO. In partnership with Association of Psychiatric Hospital Dr. Gheorghe Preda Sibiu (ASPPS) alarge number of projects have been developed. The projects aimed to create new means andmethods for complementary and ocupational therapy and to ensure a friendly and suportiveenvironement for the patients. With rather modest financial resources but maximum eficiency and voluntary work, manymodern facilities were created, some even in premiere.

The Acceptable Alternative Vehicle Fuel Price

2019

Historically, petroleum fuels have been the dominant fuel used for land transport. However, the growing need for sustainable national economics has urged us to incorporate more economical and ecological alternative vehicle fuels. The advantages and disadvantages of them complicate the decision-making process and compel us to develop adequate mathematical methods. Alternative fuel (compressed natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and ethanol fuel mixtures), the standard prices and their ratios were investigated. A mathematical model to determine a critical ratio between alternative and conventional fuel prices had already been developed. The results of this were investigated. The results sho…

THE COSTS AND BENEFITS OF EDUCATION – A BRIEF REVIEW

2010

Information on the profitability of investment in the educational system of Romania is now almost inexistent, so the assertion that education is, at least in words, a national priority, which, exploited, can generate sustainable economic growth and social welfare, is not founded now on any economic data. Next we perform an analysis of the current global research findings in the field, emphasizing, where necessary, the problems remained unsolved.
