Physiological and molecular analysis of the maturation process in fruits of Clementine Mandarin and one of its late-ripening mutants

Peel color is one of the main features affecting citrus quality. Clementine is a widespread citrus species with several mutants showing a delay in pigmentation and harvesting. This work characterizes the fruit development and ripening of two clementine clones, 'Comune', a widespread variety, and one of its natural mutations, 'Tardivo', which differ by a delayed color-break and extended harvest period. Morphological, chemical, and molecular analyses were carried out on fruits of both genotypes during the whole maturation process. Abstract This report describes composite proton electrolytes composed of nanosize zirconium phosphate or antimonic acid particles suspended in a poly(vinyl acetate)/glycerin gel matrix. The proton conductivity was 10 −3 –10 −4 S/cm at room temperature, thermal stability prevailed up to at least 110°C, and compatibility was found with oxide electrodes; these properties makes the electrolyte suitable for use in solid state electrochemical devices. Simple bilayer solar cells, using commercially available cationic cyanine dyes as donors and evaporated C60 layer as an acceptor are prepared. Cyanine dyes with absorption maxima of 578, 615 and 697 nm having either perchlorate or hexafluorophosphate counter-ions are evaluated. The perchlorate dye leads to cells with S-shape current-voltage curves; only the dyes with the hexafluorophosphate counter-ions lead to efficient solar cells. When the wide bandgap dyes are employed, S-shape current-voltage curves are obtained when the conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS is used as hole transport layer.
