Inhomogeneous speed effects on H-2 vibrational line profiles in ternary mixtures
2000
International audience; A study of speed inhomogeneous broadening of the hydrogen vibrational line profiles in the collisional regime for ternary mixtures is reported. The Q(1) line of H-2 in H-2-Ar-N-2, H-2-He-Ar, and H-2-He-N-2 mixtures is investigated by high resolution stimulated Raman spectroscopy for various concentrations and temperatures. A model, successfully used for binary mixtures, is extended to ternary mixtures. An excellent agreement is obtained between theory and experiment for H-2-Ar-N-2, by using the collisional parameters previously obtained from binary mixtures study. For H-2-He-Ar and H-2-He-N-2, H-2-He collisions play a "hardening" effect in the H-2 soft speed memory m…
H-2 vibrational spectral signatures in binary and ternary mixtures: theoretical model, simulation and application to CARS thermometry in high pressur…
2001
International audience; A summary of the main results obtained by the two groups in the field of H-2 vibrational spectral line signatures for various mixtures. in connection with CARS diagnostics of H-2-O-2 combustion systems, is presented. H-2-X Systems may have specific large inhomogeneous spectral features, due to the dependence of the line broadening and line shifting on the (H-2) radiator speed, particularly at high temperature. Thus, careful attention has to be paid to rigorously analyze such features, both from the experimental point of view (Dijon) and from the theoretical one (Besancon). Applications of the present results to high-pressure H-2/air flame thermometry are also briefly…
In Situ, Airborne Instrumentation: Addressing and Solving Measurement Problems in Ice Clouds
2012
The workshop on in situ airborne instrumentation: addressing and solving measurement problems in ice clouds, June 25-27, 2010, Oregon, aimed to identify unresolved questions concerning ice formation and evolution in ice clouds, assess the current state of instrumentation that can address these problems, introduce emerging technology that may overcome current measurement issues, and recommend future courses of action to improve our understanding of ice cloud microphysical. Eleven presentations were made covering measurement challenges associated measuring the composition and concentration of all the modes of ice nuclei (IN), measuring the morphology, mass, surface, and optical properties of …
Modeling small‐scale cassava starch extraction. Simulation of the reduction of water consumption through a recycling process
2010
International audience; The purpose of this study was to model the extraction unit operation of the cassava starch manufacturing process and to propose a realistic recycling simulation in order to reduce the volumes of effluents. The model was developed from reactors which are commonly used for cassava starch extraction at a household scale in Vietnam. The reactors were tested using inflow starch as a marker at the beginning of the batch process. The experimental residence time distribution (RTDexp) was calculated by the outflow of the starch concentration. Using Matlab®, the RTDexp was compared to the theoretical residence time distribution (RTDth). The dynamic model obtained was built up …
Rebuilding a Cluster while protecting knowledge within Low-medium-tech supplier SMEs: A Spanish and French comparison
2021
International audience; Most of SMEs are engaged in open innovation practices, but they do not benefit from open innovation or from patenting in the same way as larger firms do. At the same time SMEs, as territorialized suppliers, play a crucial role within evolving regional specialization. In this context the purpose of our study is to examine how low and medium technology supplier SMEs learn and organize themselves at a territorial level to address the challenge of IP protection in an open innovation paradigm. We used a qualitative method with a longitudinal multi-case study involving 27 companies with a historical lance to compare the territorial dynamics of knowledge protection within c…
Rational expectations behaviour of households : indicators, measures and tests
1996
The analysis of household survey data regularly conducted by INSEE from 1973 to 1994 allows to detect behaviors about anticipation and perception purpose concerning price and employment. The nature of available information offers the opportunity first to develop a rational expectation test for qualitative data, then to point out expectation errors associated to optimistic and/or pessimistic attitudes for the evolution of these two economic variables. The paper provides a series of synthetic and desegregated indicators (developed usually by psychologists, sociologists, economists, ...) then rational expectation tests and correct anticipation tests. Empirical results permit to establish rathe…
Test methodologies for the unitary root
1998
This paper provides a critical survey on unit root testing procedures frequently used in empirical literature. The importance of the hypothesis of linearity of the deterministic component is stressed because its misspecification may result in the false conclusion that the time series has a unit root. Testing strategies elaborated by Dickey, Bell and Miller (1986), Perron (1988) and Dolado, Jenkinson and Sosvilla-Rivero (1990) are compared and their limit is evaluated. An empirical testing strategy is then proposed and applied to the analysis of the nonstationarity exhibited by real GDP in France. We show that it is possible to find some flexible specifications that enable us to reject the u…
Developing a framework for designing humanitarian blockchain projects
2021
International audience; Blockchain technology promises to improve the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of humanitarian operations. Yet at the same time, especially the humanitarian context with its characteristic volatility poses unique challenges to any technology. Most prominent are the humanitarian principles that are fundamental to humanitarian operations. These ethical principles are set to protect the most vulnerable populations. Designing blockchain projects in the humanitarian context therefore requires a systematic framework that helps humanitarians make critical choices. While some design instructions can be found for commercial applications, the humanitarian context re…
Ģimenes un pirmsskolas sadarbības iespējas 2 – 3 gadus vecu bērnu sociālās adaptēšanās sekmēšanā pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē
2020
Bērns 2-3 gadu vecumā ir ļoti atkarīgs no vecākiem, nepieciešams atbalsts, dalība. Pedagogam bērnudārzā ir nozīmīga loma bērnu adaptācijas veicināšanā. Teorijā tiek skatīti tādi jautājumi, kā bērna vecumposma, attīstības raksturlielumu saistība ar adaptācijas ilgumu. Kvalifikācijas darba mērķis: empīriski izpētīt ģimenes un pirmsskolas sadarbības iespējas 2-3 gadus vecu bērnu sociālās adaptēšanās sekmēšanā pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē. Iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka lielākās problēmas sadarbībā starp skolotājiem un vecākiem bērnu adaptācijas bērnudārzā sekmēšanā – nepietiekamās zināšanas, informācija netiek saņemta savlaicīgi, paļaušanās uz intuīciju, radu ieteikumiem. Pedagogs ir virzītāj…
Construction of quality indicators based on pre-established goals: application to a colombian public university
2020
This study creates indicators of adequacy and excellence based on multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods and fuzzy logic. The calculation of indicators presents two main difficulties: The nature of the data (numerical, interval, and linguistic values are mixed) and the objective of each criterion (which does not have to reach either the maximum or the minimum). A method is proposed, based on similarity measures with predetermined ideals, that is capable of overcoming these difficulties to provide easy-to-interpret information about the quality of the alternatives. To illustrate the usefulness of this proposed method, it has been applied to data collected from students across nine …
