Towards a Library of “Early‐Late” Ti–Ru Bimetallic Complexes

A series of new titanocene phosphanes 3–6 have been prepared by replacing both chloride atoms at the titanium atom of the complexes [TiCl2(η5-C5H5){η5-C5H4(CH2)2PR2}] (1: R = Ph; 2: R = Cy) by sodium fluoride or sodium benzoate in two-phase systems. Treatment of these new metalloligands with the binuclear complex [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 affords the targeted titanocene difluoride and titanocene dibenzoate bimetallic ruthenium complexes 8–11. The first chiral Ti–Ru bimetallic complex 12 bearing a binaphthyloxy ligand at the titanium centre has been synthesised in this way. In each series, an X-ray crystal structure has been determined. Flexural behavior of external beam-column reinforced concrete assemblages externally strengthened with steel cages

In this paper, an experimental study referring to the flexural behavior of full-scale external beam-column joints externally strengthened with steel angles and strips and subjected to cyclic reversal loading is presented. One control specimen and five other specimens having the same characteristics as the control specimen but strengthened with steel angles and strips along beams and columns, and characterized by different configurations of strengthening in the critical regions, were tested. 1D antiferromagnetism in spin‐alternating bimetallic chains

The magnetic and thermal properties of the ordered bimetallic chain CoNi(EDTA)⋅6H2O in the very low‐temperature range are reported. The magnetic behavior does not exhibit the characteristic features of 1D ferrimagnets, but a continuous decrease of χmT towards zero at absolute zero. This 1D antiferromagnetic behavior results from an accidental compensation between the moments located at the two sublattices. This behavior, as well as the specific‐heat results, are modeled on the basis of an Ising‐exchange model that considers both alternating spins and Landé factors, and a zero‐field splitting on the Ni site. 1 The muscarinic receptor subtypes mediating contraction of the guinea-pig lung strip and inhibition of the release of acetylcholine from cholinergic vagus nerve endings in the guinea-pig trachea in vitro have previously been characterized as M-2-like, i.e. having antagonist affinity profiles that are qualitatively similar but quantitatively dissimilar compared to cardiac M-2 receptors. The present study sought to establish definitely the identity of these receptor subtypes by using the selective muscarinic receptor antagonist, tripitramine. During donor tissue preparation for Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), either microkeratome or femtosecond laser can be used for intrastromal cutting. We compared morphological and functional outcomes after DSAEK using both cutting techniques.In this retrospective study, 22 uneventful DSAEK surgeries were reviewed. Eight donor corneas were prepared for DSAEK using the VisuMax femtosecond laser (Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany). Insertion of single-ion magnets based on mononuclear Co(II) complexes into ferromagnetic oxalate-based networks

The 1 : 2 and 1 : 1 Co(ii) complexes of the L ligand (L = 6-(3,5-diamino-2,4,6-triazinyl)2,2'-bipyridine) with formulas [CoII(L)2](ClO4)2·0.5MeCN·Et2O (1) and [CoII(L)(CH3CN)2(H2O)](ClO4)2·MeCN (2) have been prepared. The structural and magnetic characterization of the two compounds shows that they contain octahedral high-spin Co(ii) and present a field-induced slow relaxation of the magnetization. 1 has been inserted into a bimetallic oxalate-based network leading to a novel achiral 3D compound of formula [CoII(L)2][MnIICrIII(ox)3]2·(solvate) (3) exhibiting ferromagnetic ordering below 4.6 K. EPR measurements suggest a weak magnetic coupling between the two sublattices.

Low-frequency band gap in cross-like holey phononic crystal strip

International audience; A silicon-based cross-like holey phononic crystal (PnC) strip is proposed for the control of elastic waves in the field of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). The goal is to obtain a broad bandgap at low frequencies with a lightweight structure. In this respect, the effects of varying the in-plane and the out-of-plane geometry parameters are discussed. After design, a gap-to-midgap ratio of 47% is obtained with an intermediate filling fraction of the solid material and a small thickness of the strip. Development of gas sensors by microwave transduction with phthalocyanine film

International audience; This work presents a new transduction mode for gas sensing using a passive microwave circuit at room temperature. The design of the sensor includes a microstrip line where is deposited a thin molecular layer of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc). The material is sensitive to ammonia and toluene. Submitted to an electromagnetic incident wave in the microwave range, the sensor response is a reflected wave. In the presence of ammonia, the reflected wave is specific to the species concentration.
