Abstract The majority of countries with advanced information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure have been experiencing extended stagnation due to an “embedded” trap in ICT advancement. However, certain countries have been able to sustain a high level of ICT- driven global competitiveness. This suggests that in these contexts there is resilience beyond economic value. Finland and Singapore can be considered countries of resilience with respect to ICT-driven global competitiveness because of their continued GDP growth despite the recession. A posteriori error estimates for time-dependent reaction-diffusion problems based on the Payne-Weinberger inequality

We consider evolutionary reaction-diffusion problem with mixed Dirichlet--Robin boundary conditions. For this class of problems, we derive two-sided estimates of the distance between any function in the admissible energy space and exact solution of the problem. The estimates (majorants and minorants) are explicitly computable and do not contain unknown functions or constants. Moreover, it is proved that the estimates are equivalent to the energy norm of the deviation from the exact solution.

Value Creation and Evolution of a Value Network: A Longitudinal Case Study on a Platform-as-a-Service Provider

Current research on cloud computing emphasizes the important role of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) providers. However, little is known about how PaaS providers can offer value to the content providers and firms operating the platform. The findings demonstrate how a small PaaS provider in the cloud gaming market was able to develop a strong position in the value network by offering direct and indirect value to its partners. The findings also reveal how the firm developed its value network over fourteen years, from a complex network with several actors to a very simple value network which included only partners of prime importance. peerReviewed

Mobile Banking Services Continuous Usage -- Case Study of Finland

Finland is at the forefront of using new information systems, such as mobile banking (m-banking). The present study develops and tests a model of continuous usage intentions toward m-banking services for a sample of 273 Finnish m-banking users. Results confirm the hypothesized direct relationships between self-congruence and perceived value, perceived risk and perceived value, perceived value and continuous usage, and continuous usage and word of mouth. Camera-based mobile interaction with the real world allows consumers to connect digital information with the real-world environment, and furthermore, to interact with real-world objects and places. To explore and understand the types of consumer value in the context of such consumer-level applications, we applied the critical incident technique to reflect actual use experiences from 107 application users with a recognized consumer value framework by Holbrook. This study conceptualizes the notion of value co-destruction by reviewing and synthesizing the scattered and scarce value co-destruction literature in interdisciplinary fields. Building on our synthesis, we outline a conceptual framework for the value co-destruction process consisting of three interrelated categories of key concepts. Consumer Acceptance and Use of Instagram

This study extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model to investigate factors affecting the acceptance and use of a social networking service (SNS) called Instagram. The UTAUT2 model is modified to better suit the context of SNSs by replacing the price value construct with self-congruence. Furthermore, we explore the effects of behavioral intention and use behavior on "user indegree" defined as the number of people who follow an SNS user.
