A suitable extraction and purification method for the simultaneous liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) determination of five mycotoxins, three type A, diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS), T-2 toxin (T-2) and HT-2 toxin (HT-2), and two type B-trichothecenes, deoxynivalenol (DON) and nivalenol (NIV), has been optimised using a modified "Quick Easy Cheap Effective Rugged and Safe" (QuEChERS) method. Different solvents were studied in the extraction procedure to obtain better recoveries, which ranged from 86 to 108%, using a 85/15 (v/v) mixture of methanol/acetonitrile. Background Individuals with natural rubber latex allergy often have immediate reactions to plant-derived foods and fresh fruits, such as avocado and banana. IgE of these patients has been shown to bind endochitinases containing an N-terminal hevein-like domain (HLD). However, evidence on 31-kd endochitinase-induced reactions in vivo is lacking. However, these basic ingredients of bread composition are multifunctional, and important changes in their content influence the texture, flavour and acceptability of the product. Effectiveness in improving serum antioxidant status of two functional pastas was evaluated by the novel Antioxidant/ Oxidant Balance (AOB) parameter, calculated as Antioxidant Capacity (AC)/Peroxide Level ratio, assessed here for the first time. In particular, Bran Oleoresin (BO) and Bran Water (BW) pastas, enriched respectively with either lipophilic (tocochromanols, carotenoids) or hydrophilic/phenolic antioxidants extracted from durum wheat bran, were studied. In recent years, a new gluten- or wheat-related disease has emerged, a condition labeled "nonceliac gluten sensitivity" (NCGS) or "nonceliac wheat sensitivity" (NCWS). NCWS pathogenesis is still uncertain and attributed to very different mechanisms. We aimed to study the different T-lymphocyte subsets in the rectal mucosa of NCWS patients to demonstrate the possible contribution of adaptative immune response. Persistence of Nonceliac Wheat Sensitivity, Based on Long-term Follow-up

We investigated how many patients with a diagnosis of nonceliac wheat sensitivity (NCWS) still experienced wheat sensitivity after a median follow-up time of 99 months. We collected data from 200 participants from a previous study of NCWS, performed between July and December 2016 in Italy; 148 of these individuals were still on a strict wheat- free diet. In total, 175 patients (88%) improved (had fewer symptoms) after a diagnosis of NCWS; 145 of 148 patients who adhered strictly to a gluten-free diet (98%) had reduced symptoms, compared with 30 of 52 patients who did not adhere to a gluten-free diet (58%) (P < .0001).
